So does this mean he isnt on Kobe's level anymore....as some people tried to claim...

I thought Bynum was the one who was gonna get soft after getting paid? :devilwink:
I never expected Roy to be on Kome's level. But I do expect Oden to handle your boy Bynum in the not too distant future. :)

Brandon brought it last night FLAT OUT! He didn't get the help he normally gets for us to get the W! Roy is NOT the problem. Man, what little credibility some of you have is quickly fading away!

16 games in, slight bit of bumps, and some have bailed on Roy. Amazing. Absolutely amazing. 3 years in to a great beginning of a career. fuck. I don't remember Zach getting heat like this early on into his contract.

We put people on a pedestal some times JUST so we can knock them down later. Roy is a very good player. Maybe not as good as some thought he was, but he's young and will improve. I'm not worried about him.

Ed O.

Very astute point. Give a talented player like Roy the ball a lot and he'll average 20 or so... But now that the team is growing up around him, he can take a more subdued role. He's still talented, but nit quite as good as his press clippings suggest.

Well, once again (like he did in two playoff games) he personally ended late comebacks by going 1-on-4, refusing to pass to wide open wing shooters and easily getting the ball taken away. It's now become apparent that he is uncapable of not losing a game late. I thought he would have learned after personally losing those 2 playoff games in the same manner. But it appears not.

He played hard for us ever since his rookie year to last season but then something over the summer changed him. Once he say how much money he could make, the $82,000,000 max contract he whined and cried to get it. As a true leader like Kobe, LeBron and Wade, he needs to act like one take command when the going gets tough, but hey Roy wont play defense because he only cares about himself and his offensive output. Roy's true colors have come out, we should have known this when he refused to take part in the national anthem. As I listen to him right now giving a post game interview, he is not a leader, he is not angry, he's just relaxed. Roy got his $82M, so what else does he have to play for?

So being a two time NBA allstar was just a trick to get a max contract?

I hope every Blazer tricks us like this.

I'm with HCP on this one. Roy comes a couple of rebounds and assist away from a triple double and fans are jumping off the BRoy bandwagon.

The game tonight can be summarized in one play in the 4th quarter when LA tried to pass the ball to Roy but Roy was lazy getting the pass and it got stolen and the Jazz did some nice passing to get a lay-up. Seems more and more each game Roy refuses to play defense and on the offensive end it's all about him and his one-on-one isolation plays. I don't understand why Roy wont be more of a team player and move without the ball? The reason Blake plays alot is because Roy wants Blake to play alot because he's the perfect player for Roy in the backcourt so Roy can have the balls in his hands. Andre Miller will get shipped out of here before the trade deadline.

I didn't get to watch the game, but it sure seems like you are riding Roy's jock awfully hard. Lemme guess, Rudy should start over him?

Do I need to bring out the stats? I think I need to bring out the stats.

This is Roy this year:

Shot Att. eFG% Ast'd Blk'd Pts
Jump 78% .462 48% 1% 10.8
Close 19% .549 18% 20% 3.1
Dunk 2% 1.000 80% 0% 0.6
Tips 1% .500 0% 0% 0.2
Inside 22% .583 26% 17% 3.9

This was Roy last year:

Shot Att. eFG% Ast'd Blk'd Pts
Jump 66% .465 35% 2% 10.3
Close 31% .578 27% 8% 6.0
Dunk 2% .933 64% 0% 0.7
Tips 1% .579 0% 0% 0.3
Inside 34% .601 30% 7% 7.0

Look at the jumpshots. He's taking 12% more jumpshots this year than last year, and his assisted rate is 13% higher. However, the points that come from it are virtually identical. That means less of his points are coming from isolation shots and more are coming from catching passes from teammates and making them.

Boom, Roy still may not be great at moving without the ball, but he's trying, he's trying...

The offense only accounts for 50% of the game and I feel Roy has been dogging it on the defensive end.

So you drop half your argument? What a selfish player, that Roy, amirite? And for what it's worth, Roy is holding his SG counterpart to 14 PER, whereas he held them to 17 PER last season. Although that might have to do with the early schedule being easier. We'll see at the end of the season. He was never a good defender last year, and hasn't been better this year.

Should have known when Roy took the summer off. Real Franchise players like Kobe spent the summer improving their game....Roy was busy resting:dunno:

He got his money, he will be taking it easy.

Where were all those people who told me that Roy>Kobe last year? :biglaugh:

You are wrong about Roy...he is not all about the offense...as evidenced by his rebounds for a guard, his steals, and his assists...HE IS A WELL ROUNDED B=BALL PLAYER---ROOKIE OF THE YEAR....ALL STAR.... YOU JUST DON'T GET THOSE ACCOLADES BECAUSE ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS OFFENSE!! I will agree that his petty whining about having to play the 3 position and his love affair with Steve Blake is not what a LEADER and the face of the franchise should be doing. Roy needs to step up...adjust his game...like all the greats have done throughout their careers...realize that his role on this team is changing and evolving because of the metamorphosis of the stud in the OZONE...AND the addition of the SEASONED MECHANIC MILLER....this team will get ousted in the first round again if we don't use Oden and Miller like we should be doing ie.....MORE TOUCHES FOR ODEN....MILLER STARTING... AND as far as the national anthem bullshit conjured by CRAPANZONO...ROY HAS BEEN DOING THAT FOR TWO SEASONS NOW...I KNOW...I HAVE SEASONS TICKETS. Roy is too smart...he will just stand with his team from now on...problem solved. ROY NEEDS TO REALIZE THAT IF HE WELCOMES MILLER WITH OPEN ARMS AND MAKES SURE THAT ODEN GETS THE BALL FIRST....HE WILL BE AN ALL STAR EVERY YEAR AND HIS CAREER WILL LAST LONGER WITH LESS INJURIES.

His PER is down from 24.0 to 19.1 (20%). His efficiency (NBA.com definition) per 48 minutes is down from 28.3 to 23.8 (16%). I can't find efficiencies (ESPN definition) for 2008-09.

I would hope that you would at least read what I was responding to:
