Okay, maybe not "Truth" in all sense of the word, but I have a very strong belief that it's true.

Think about it like this. Let's say you've been working for this company for 4 years and became one of the best. You are the talk of the company and everyone is patting your back, telling you their company wouldn't be where it is without you, etc. Problem is, this company is small and has a much smaller ceiling than the majority of the other companies around you.

All the sudden another of the "Bigger Companies" ask you to come and work for them, giving you an incentive that you will someday have a star position in their company. Something like VP or something, being paid "Top Dollar" as "The Man". But they ask for you to take in less money, with the ideal that eventually they will pay you much more.

So you see this bigger picture and take the job. All the sudden they bring you in, doing "Mail Organization" or "Public Relations", something you have no idea about and can't understand why they even hired you. You do this terribly and they tell you that, because of your "poor learning curve" we are forced to keep you at the smaller salary.

How would you handle this?

I'm not saying that Rudy should deserve to start, just that I kinda know what he's feeling. He had a great career in Europe, getting paid way more than the NBA. I suspect KP massaged him into coming to Portland, with the idea that he will be one of the main focal points of the franchise. Now that things aren't "peachy" in Portland, I could see how he could be frustrated.

Does that mean to start Fernandez? Nah, just an opinion.

Well, what's my goal with each company? I can stay at my current smaller company, and make, what was it offered, 6 million euros a year? I can be a star, in my home country, making a TON of money, and be just about th ebest at what I do. I can be an international star every two years as well, when uh, business competitions come along.

Or, I get an offer from a company that is in a much bigger market, but also with many people more talented than I. It is likely I will never be the best, and will not make the money i would have previously made.

I'd take the first, personally. He took the second to prove himself in the NBA. He knew the situation going in, with Roy on the team, as an All Star, and how long his contrct would be with us. Sorry he gave up the money to come over. If he wants to win, he can stick around and try to win a title with us, playing a big role eventually in that title. Or, he can go to NY, and put up 20 PPG on mediocre teams year after year.

Not saying I think he should start because of what's probably said to him. Just trying to get an idea on how he's feeling. Because in all honesty, is he really getting a chance to prove he is NBA ready? I think averaging 10-12 minutes a game isn't.

Now don't get me wrong. I am in no way advocating to start him or give him what he thinks he deserves. He should earn his playing time. I'm just thinking that eventually he will want to bolt to a team that is willing to play him more.

10-12 minutes a game?

He averaged 26 minutes a game last year as a rookie. He is averaging 21 this year, and could easily say it is down more because of him having a heavy load during the summer, adn having back spasms during training camp and pre-season, mroe than his role on the team. I fhe was playing 10-12 minutes, maybe I'd be concerned.

LMAO! Hahahahha, BUSTED! I was kinda exaggerating. Forgot how you have to be specific in this forum. You Blazer fans are always on top of things. :P

I normally don't like playing grammar cop, but you said "all the sudden" twice in your post. It's, "all of a sudden".

I feel much better now.

In other words, it's OK for Rudy to be upset, but Brandon Roy is being selfish if he is less-than-happy about being moved to SF.

I'm beginning to see a theme for the season starting. I never thought Roy would be the scapegoat, but it's appearing to look that way.

Absolutely not. But you are basing your opinions that Roy is unhappy, without a single quote from him saying otherwise. So everything is heresay. As far as Rudy is concerned, I am just pointing out what I believe he is thinking. And since you seem very observant, you would see that I made a pun with the word "Truth" and explaining this was my opinion.

But excuse me if I may have rubbed you wrong regarding Roy, but I personally like him at SF. I've said this for the last 2 seasons. I even posted in this forum long before the season started and got ridiculed for it.

Regardless, I was unaware this wasn't a "public forum" and you are burned at the stake for disagreeing with the forum regulars.

I have no problem with your opinion of Roy as a SF, other than I think that it's completely ridiculous to move an All-Star SG with size to be an under-sized SF who is a defensive liability.

I guess we can disagree because I see it more of a disadvantage for the other team, especially knowing that Roy demands doubles, even from SFs. That demand on the wing, opens the game up down low. I'm more concerned with opening the low post scoring than giving Roy scoring titles. And so far, we've been seriously outrebounding other teams, because IN MY OPINION the bigs aren't worried about foul trouble or covering the lack of guard penetration.

So I am basing my opinions on what I see and what I think we lack. Yes Roy is definitely a SG, but until we have a defense that will be able to stop dribble penetration, I am extremely happy with the change up.

Part of the equation is being ignored.

Rudy was recruited in a big way by using his close relationship with Sergio. That was a big part of the lure, and he later learned Nate was never on board with the Spanish Armada idea at all. Now it's clear to him Nate has no intention, nor the knowledge, to implement the type of creative uptempo game KP has extolled as our goal. Never gonna happen.

Now he's suddenly scrapping with a scrub and an AARP member for PT.
