Who does Rudy expect to start over? If anything hes gonna play less with miller. I mean unless roy plays sg and rudy plays sf.... his minutes are gonna drop. can we trade him for Kevin Martin? Reunite him and sergio so we dont have to listen to him bitch all year

This is a classic case of team goals and individual player goals diverging. I don't blame Rudy for wanting to play more. If he is going to grow into a serious player in the NBA he needs the playing time...but how in the world is he going to get more the 25 min./game on this team...unless.....I can't even type what I was thinking...

No but seriously, he's gotta show more than 3's and alley oops to get a bigger role in Nate's system. This, to me, means one of two things: Outlaw needs to be traded to give Rudy some more minutes and more time to show if he's got the stuff...
or Rudy is ultimately not destined to remain on the team. Thoughts?

Rudy will ultimately want to be traded. He is going to want to start. I can already see that. Rudy would be great if he wasn't behind one of the best shooting guards in the game. Realistically, I could see us trading him and a combination of other players for a long term answer at point guard.

If Martell blows up and hits 3's like Rudy (plus defense and athleticism), I wouldn't mind that.
But yeah, unless we win a championship before his contract is up, I don't see him wanting to return unless he's getting 30+mpg

Funny, somehow I imagine him winning a 'ship would only increase the odds that he would bolt; after you've got a ring what's left but to look after yourself and try to get some individual honors (and a fatter paycheck).
If we win it all before his rookie deal is up, he'll be almost impossible to retain.

I don't think Boston would ever go for it, but that's a fabulous lineup (first and second units) with veterans, defense and very few real weaknesses.

Great. If he wants a bigger role he should PLAY DEFENSE and be able to put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. All he did last year was shoot threes and make the occasional backdoor cut. He is an excellent 3 point shooter but he doesn't really have any "go to move". I think Rudy is good but I don't understand what all the hype is about. He is a below average defender and if his three point shot isn't falling what is he good for??
