They are in Minny, so it wouldn't be a total shock if it were Ridnour. My hope is they swing for the fences and land someone like Beasley

But for the few of you who think I don't know stuff..... check yourself. Actually just heard some very interesting things as we were waiting to take off yesterday.......
 
Well reading into Rice statements (I realize what that says right there) . . . if Batum is not untoucable (Like LA), maybe that means some kind of trade for Rondo is being pushed.

(I'm really hating this season if I'm trying to read into Rice's hype.)
 
Another possibility with Boston...

They obviously want young assets and long with our package maybe agree to take back Beasley and package him to Boston -- they have interest in him.

Well it was weird that Rice said Batum was untradeable, then said getting a player like Rondo would require Batum and another player. Weird that he mentioned Rondo.

Not really weird at all. It's all the fan base talks about on local radio. Saying things like "maybe we could offer Babbitt and a 2nd for Rondo, they need a shooter" Because a lot of Blazer fans are totally myopic when it comes to the players on this team

I know they're in Minny - my fear would be that Ridnour is at the hotel to meet up with members of the organization.

The Timber Wolves don't have a practice facility so all of the players are currently at the same hotel the Blazers are staying at watching a film session being conducted by Bill Bayno.

I would be a little upset if we got Ridnour. It's another mediocre PG and not one for the future. Now if it was Felton for Ridnour, I would be ecstatic!

This is the type of trade the Blazers make with no GM. Fear nothing and accept it. It's much easier
 
I wouldn't mind seeing POR deal Crawford or Matthews (preferable) to IND for a package including George Hill....

or deal Wallace to HOU for a package including Dragic\Hill & Budinger

or Deal Crawford to MIN for Beasley

Or Felton to the LAL for a bag of chips (formerly known as a TPE)

Out: Crawford\Matthews\Wallace\Felton

In: Beasley\G.Hill\Dragic\Budinger\Hill\1st round pick (via LAL)

Younger, cheaper, talented, some shooting, some rebounding, 2 better PG than we currently have, another 1st round pick in strong 2012 draft...and still possibly cap space to go after 1 significant free agent?

These are all good trades. No way in hell Houston does that, but the others are doable. I still think the Blazers need to focus on the draft and rebuild that way, but good trades

I disagree about the HOU trade though, they are a fringe playoff team, they have a good core Lowry\Martin\Scola\Dalembert and Wallace would fit in perfectly in the SF spot (better than Lee by far)...

They have a replacement for Budinger in the wings\heck, already playing in Chandler Parsons...

They have 2 young PF to replace Hill in Patterson and Morris (both of whom are better players IMO)....

Dragic is the only player that would sting a little , and I emphasize a little, and he hasn't played that great this year....But they do have Flynn & Terrence Williams...Also, POR would have to throw back players to HOU so a guy like Nolan Smith, Craig Smith etc would likely need to be included....

Lowry is a good PG, he plays 36min currently, could probably play more, so they would need someone for 8-12min a game be it Flynn, Williams or someone else....

When Dragic is on and motivated he is really good. Im just not sure how often that is. The scary part is that may still be better than Felton. So sad.

I think what MM's getting at is that the last tweet from Rice was mentioned way earlier in this thread, and why the thread went from 2 pages to 6+ in a matter of 2-3 hours.
