The Warriors lottery pick this year, for argument's sake let's say they end up in the top 7 and keep their pick. They draft someone like MKG.

Curry
Thompson
Kidd-Gilchrist
Bogut

That's a nice core

It's funny, as the Warriors and the Bucks both usually get the short end of trades, this had to be the rare trade that was bad for both teams. I think they managed it! The Warriors give up their best +/- guy, a glue defender who actually does the magic trick of making all others around him better and their iron man fan-fave who can, on any given night, go off even on people like Kobe, for a guy who's had serious injury after serious injury and whose scoring has gone off a cliff since that ugly arm-break. To team up with their PG who can't stay healthy because his ankles are made of jello. Oh, and they get an old washed-up Captain Jack back, who wants a huge extension.

Meanwhile the Bucks, who already have a tiny gunner at PG and Beno Udrih as a key reserve get ANOTHER tiny gunner who can't play PG back in return for their once #1 pick in the draft. Who actually seemed to like Milwaukee and did things like buy tickets for a large section of seats and gave them away to super-fans, thus ensuring a good home crowd. The only good news is they unloaded Jackson and they got Udoh. So there's that. Huzzah.

Although its not a rumor, abbott asked if Felton and Crawford for Allen was liked. At this point, any deal is a good one. At least Allen is expiring.

I'm probably the only fan here without any game access, but are Aldridge and Batum really hustling and trying? It looks like they are really struggling too.

I'm starting to think that both of them are good third players on a team that is missing number 1 and 2. And, maybe it would be best to cut them loose for draft picks so you have more shots on goal to land someone who really wants to win and has the talent to be the MAN.
The team had 5 assists last night. Both of those guys rely on guards to get them the ball in scoring position. Do the math. And no, they are not pointlessly trying to put the team on their backs and will it to victory, in the absence of a single useful guard. They've thrown in the towel. Which is understandable and fine with me at this point.

The Celtics offered Paul Pierce to Portland -- I'm not sure what they asked for in return -- but the Blazers were not interested because of the two years and $32 million remaining on Pierce's contract.

The Blazers are positioning themselves to have tons of cap room this summer and they don't want to do anything to eliminate their space as they try to rebuild around LaMarcus Aldridge and Nicolas Batum. The Blazers continue to shop the rest of their roster, particularly Gerald Wallace, Ray Felton, Marcus Camby and Jamal Crawford.

RT @WojYahooNBA: Portland's talks with Minnesota on a Jamal Crawford deal are gathering momentum again, sources tell Y! Sports.

Better not be for Ridnour.

If it's not for a pick (which I don't think they have one to trade) what if it was Ridnour and maybe a guy like Wesley Johnson or Randolph? Somebody who has disappointed, but might still have some untapped "potential"? I'd be tempted to consider it.

They have Utah's pick

Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee reports that the Sacramento Kings are interested in Portland Trail Blazers forward Nicolas Batum.

-------------------------

Nothing new trade-wise for Kings. Heard they've inquired about availability of Portland SF Nicolas Batum. Not expecting anything yet.

Not sure Blazers want to move Batum or what Kings could offer to get him. Kings would love another SF but that might have to wait until the summer.

Portland's talks with Minnesota for Jamal Crawford are part of a 3-way scenario with Lakers, source says. Michael Beasley would go to LA

I would take a chance on Beasley. We can extend him for a lot cheaper than Gerald this summer, and still maintain some of G's production.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=6sxxsum Would you do it if they kicked in a first?

ROFL.....That would just be the icing on the cake of this season....

Who are they Blazers planning on targeting with all this cap space they covet for this summer?

I can't wait for this to happen. The only way to stomach that deal would be if Felton went to LA, Crawford went to Minny, Beasley went to LA and Blanky and filler came to Portland along with firsts from both Minny and LA

Dwight and Deron ... and I'm sure Larry Miller will look completely pole-axed when he lands neither, which means we'll get to pick over the heap of garbage and overpay several headcases who couldn't get along with their last coach because he wanted them to pass or play defense.

What if we traded Crawford in the first 3 way to get Utah's pick (Minny owns), then do another deal with Lakers for their pick (Felton for the TPE and pick)?

I'm no fan of overpaying a free-agent left over after all the big fish sign with other teams. This will be the summer of over-paying for talent.

We should pass out paper bags at the Rose Garden if this shit happens.

That would be a great move. Which is why it will never happen

Along with our guards, the blame is also on Nate. The Blazers offense is absolutely brutal to watch. We appear to have only three plays total:

1. Post up Aldridge while the other 4 stand around with their thumbs up their ass
2. Watch a guard dribble into a double team thirty feet from the basket, make a desperate pass with under 5 seconds on the shot-clock so a teammate can throw up a brick from beyond the arc. If that option doesn't pan out, we simply turn it over and watch a lay up drill at the other end.
3. Have Felton or Jamal go 1 on 1 and see what happens.

Nate simply isn't capable of creating a fluid offense. It's not good enough, it's not even professional basketball at this point. It's just sad. He needs to go, and it needed to happen in February.

Unfortunately we don't have a front office either, since Paul 'the masochist' Allen appears to have led by example and thrown in the towel.

I wasn't this disgusted in a team even near the end of the Jailblazers era when we got the #1 pick. That year I knew our roster just sucked. This year is not about a lack of talent on the team.
