If we go by the playoff series, ask LA if Z-Bo is a crappy defender as well then.
Why? The question wasn't "Is Zach Randolph a good defender?"

Yep it will.
I guess if Love is a consolation prize, he's better than nothing, but I still feel like LA will be a huge piece of shit in my eyes if he leaves.
Lmao! So you make a claim that Aldridge is a bad defender, then deny stats. So are we just riding along the psychedelic trip your on or you actually have substantial evidence to support your claim? If you're into stats maybe

I don't think LA is a bad defender by any means. My problem is that I think he has the tools to be first team All-NBA in defense. He's long. He's athletic. He's a sharp guy. There's no reason why he shouldn't be one of the top defenders at his position, but he simply isn't. He's not a good help defender IMO. Having watched Sheed growing up, I know what a really good defender looks like at the four. Or Camby. Guys who talk on defense, help out on the pick and roll, and play good man to man. Aldridge has the tools but the effort isn't there.
Oh cool, so you aren't one that says Aldridge is a crappy defender?Show me where I said aldridge was a bad defender. Please.

Agreed, except for the comment about him being smart. Hi might not be Travis Outlaw-dumb, but he's closer to that end of the spectrum than...whomever the smart end of the spectrum would be named after.I don't think LA is a bad defender by any means. Given how much energy is required of LA on the offensive end, I'm not sure that expecting him to be a great help defender is realistic.
all those "3's this year wore him out I guessHow much energy does it take to loft up jumpers? If he was in the paint all game I would agree, but he's not.

Man, sometimes I wonder if you're even watching the same player. Lofting up jumpers? Yeah, he shoots a lot of turn-around jumpers, but only after he's spent a considerable amount of time and energy working for position and setting his man up.

Eh, I don't know... sure, definitely he does that during part of the game, but there's also a lot of shots where he just sits at the top of the key and jacks a shot, or runs a pick and pop. Those can't possibly expel a ton of energy.
Garnett was 1st team defense a number of times. So was Kobe. Do you think LA works harder on offense than either of those guys?

Love is a 7 yr vet. Aldridge is a 9 yr vet. The max for a 7-9 yr vet is 30% of the CAP (about $20,130,000).The one positive in Love is if... if.. Lamarcus leaves Love is a good PF, and his max is lower than Aldridge meaning we would have more cap space to swing big.
Which is part of his problem. If he didn't get the ball and then dribble four times and let the Defense adjust, he wouldn't have to put as much effort into shooting jump shots as he does. Its a huge complaint that most have on this board against LMA, even his fans like me. LMA's biggest weakness is not being assertive enough. When is he going to do the one dribble drop a shoulder and take two steps to the hoop and dunk it?
He plays soft on D and plays soft in the post.
I love the guy and don't want to see him leave, but if he stays, in order to win, he needs to be more aggressive and quick with his decision making. Not sit and wait till the defense comes because he isn't a good passer to find the open guy.
Malone was first team defense, so was Duncan and Garnett. The argument just doesn't hold water.
