why would we even need 3 2nd rounders? the odds are good that none of them amount to anything. keep 23 and you have a chance to get someone like justin anderson, delon wright, rj hunter, maybe even kevon looney. Those guys have a better chance of sticking than anyone in the 2nd round.
Ah, but a lot depends on what the Blazers are thinking of doing with the pick.
If they are in a position to grab a guy like Anderson or Wright who are going to be solid rotation guys sooner rather than later - I agree with your point. If they follow the path I suspect - rolling the dice on a project big man - then I would rather take multiple bites at the apple a little later in the draft.
See, I would much rather have Henson. MCW has too much of a me-first attitude imo.I could get behind MCW if he's available. I think he's a big guard that could work very well with Dame.
The only reason why I think MCW would work well is having another distributor. Also, his game is slashing, getting to the line and 10 ft jumpers. I miss having that option.See, I would much rather have Henson. MCW has too much of a me-first attitude imo.
Henson was one of my "guys" in his draft. Yes I wanted him over Leonard (but also wanted Drummond over both) so maybe Olshey made the right choice. That's quite a drop. I'm thinking Boston might be a better partner. #23 for #28 + #33. Then #28 for #35 & #37.Do we have a rumor thread already? Sorry if we do.

Sources say 76ers and Blazers have discussed a deal that would give Philly #23 pick in exchange for #35 and #37 picks (and possibly more).
Not impressed
I would like to know the possibly more side of this trade?Do we have a rumor thread already? Sorry if we do.

Over the past 19 seasons (since 94) They're were 11 all-nba or all-star players taken in the last third of the draft (20-29/20-30). There were 12 all-star or all-nba players coming from the second round.
That means that 2.1% of 2nd round picks resulted in all-nba/all-stars
And 6.1% of late 1st rounders turned into all stars
I wouldve said yes before all the foreigners dropped out. Now that they did it's at best an average 2nd round while the late first is definitely above averageSo that settles it: Philly has to give us 3 picks.

That might be true for Neil as well. He probably has about 20-22 players on his draft board he would take at 23. If for some reason none of them fall to us, he might want to trade down.
My guess is
My guess is the trade (if there is one) only happens after pick #22 has happened. You don't do it before the draft and then watch one of your fave players mysteriously drop.
