Do we have a rumor thread already? Sorry if we do.

Sources say 76ers and Blazers have discussed a deal that would give Philly #23 pick in exchange for #35 and #37 picks (and possibly more).

Not impressed
seems this would only make sense if Portland had a deal already done to pick up a higher pick in exchange for one of our players.

Regardless of Olshey's plans, I still think we're giving up too much value and not getting enough in return in this trade scenario. Moving back 12 spots hsould get us more than one second round pick.

With that said, this could signal Olshey is looking to shed as much cap space as possible and those thoughts could be confirmed if we see Batum moved on draft night for a lottery pick.

To me, it makes more (hypothetical) sense to move Batum for a lottery pick and use No. 23 along with the newly acquired lottery pick to move up a couple of spots if the guy we want isn't going to make it to us.

Why? If your assumption is that this would be to clear as much cap room as possible, then we wouldn't want ANY picks this year - we'd trade for future picks.

Joe Freeman says vehemently on his podcast with Casey that "the Blazers will pursue Greg Monroe vigorously. "

Remember that due to the Stepien rule, the Blazers CAN'T trade out of the first round pre-draft.

Mavs will look to trade Monta Ellis if he opts in. Is it always this crazy 2 days before the draft?

Don't forget who Monroe's agent is though. Very close with olshey and is also hibberts agent who I remember saying something about how well olshey dealt with that situation when they were recruiting roy.

If we move Batum for a pick, I think the play is to try to create cap space. It doesn't necessarily mean LA is gone. It could be all about trying to bring in a third star.

I wonder if olshey asked LA if he would rather play with lopez or hibbert/jordan. Actually I'm pretty sure a convo like that took place, regardless of what LAs intentions are. We would need to clear as much space as possible to afford either of those two

are we envisioning a frontcourt of LMA, ROLO, monroe and legend? that would be unbelievable....thinking that if we do trade batum and draft a young SF..then get a vet for cheap

Ford: Top heavy, drops off a cliff after #19.

So what is the consensus on Justin Anderson? There is a lot of different scenarios on the mocks I have seen, but the one constant is Anderson will be there at 23.

Is he a bad consolation prize? He seems like he would be a decent SF for us. Strengths are 3 pt shooting and defense..........

For some odd reason he's become a Mariners fan.

Very weird, considering they have no fans.

Was at the two games v. SF last week. The stadium had plenty of empty seats, and most of the occupied seats were filled with SF fans.

I just listened to the whole hour and didn't hear anything about this. Did I miss it?

Whaaaaaat? Where are all the 12's? They don't support baseball? Or is it that they don't support a losing team? They had plenty of fans back when they had Griffey and ARod.

It would be anticlimactic if he did trade down.

Two drafts in a row where Neil sits on his thumbs, taking no risks. The Anti-Ainge.

But this is coming from only one source. Not sure how connected Alex Kennedy is pertaining to the Blazers.
