In a remark extraordinary even by the standards of conservative talk show host Rush Limbaugh, the right-wing radio heavyweight declared on his program Wednesday that the United States needed to return to racially segregated buses.

Referring to an incident in which a white student was beaten by black students on a bus, Limbaugh said: “I think the guy’s wrong. I think not only it was racism, it was justifiable racism. I mean, that’s the lesson we’re being taught here today. Kid shouldn’t have been on the bus anyway. We need segregated buses — it was invading space and stuff. This is Obama’s America.”

Limbaugh’s comments came after a called complained to say that local law enforcement said the attack probably wasn’t racially motivated. The incident had been hyped by the conservative Drudge Report, which posted a video of the fracas.

“Police initially said the beating of the white student by two black students appeared to be racially motivated,” the Associated Press wrote. “But police on Tuesday backed away from that.”

That didn’t stop Limbaugh from making his comments Wednesday.

“In Obama’s America, the white kids now get beat up with the black kids cheering, ‘Yay, right on, right on, right on, right on,” Limbaugh also said. “I wonder if Obama’s going to come to come to the defense of the assailants the way he did his friend Skip Gates up there at Harvard.”

“White Americans are racists who have created what they call free markets that really just enslave the rest of America and her trading partners,” Limbaugh also mocked. “I mean, it was white Americans that ran off Van Jones. No, look, let’s just follow Eric Holder’s advice and not be cowards about all this. Let’s have an open conversation, an honest conversation about all of our typical white grandmothers. You had one, I had one. Obama had one. They’re racists just like our students are. ACORN — hey, nothing but racism fueling the pursuit of ACORN.”

Limbaugh also suggested that racism itself was acceptable.

“If homosexuality being inborn is what makes it acceptable, why does racism being inborn not make racism acceptable?” the talk show host asked. “I’m sorry — I mean, this is the way my mind works. But apparently now we don’t choose racism, we just are racists. We are born that way. We don’t choose it. So shouldn’t it be acceptable, excuse — this is according to the way the left thinks about things.”

Its just funny that...

1. Any black on white racism is Obama's fault, and Obama's America.
2. The fact that the police now say this wasn't racially motivated won't stop Rush from taking his shots!

Rush is afraid he's losing listenership and influence to Glen Beck, so he's ratcheting up the "Say Inflammatory Shit"-o-meter.

When will people learn that all of these radio and TV pundits are just entertainers performing to people who have forgotten that they are entertainers?
 
Folks, this is the face and the voice of the conservative right and the majority of the republican party.
 
i realize that it sometimes can be hard to read sarcasm but that's what his quote clearly is.

you don't see how that is sarcastic? the white kid should have gotten beaten for invading space and stuff? it happened because the black kid was racist, but him being racist against the white kid is justifiable? the lesson we learn is that the white kid isn't allowed on the bus in obama's america?

That was from Newsweek, which published a piece on how whites are inherently racist. Newsweek was not being sarcastic, however.

Have you listened to the entire segment?

It's this sort of distortion and flat-out lying that has us headed into an inevitable confrontation as a country. You can only demonize non-racist people as being racists for so long before the blowback becomes a hurricane.

If he's not, then who is the voice of the conservative right and the republican party? Am I missing the one person or group of people that is actually coming out with ideas and leading the party? Like it or not, Rush is the face of the right-leaning individuals. Perception is reality.

Your (that's the collective "your" meaning most people on the left, not necessarily you in particular) perception of Rush is shaped by people who are deliberately misinterpreting what he says. I'm fully aware of the fact that this sort of thing happens in the opposite direction as well.

Like the President is doing? Anyhow, Newsweek put out a very inflammatory cover that Limbaugh was sarcastically replying to in his out of context words. Why didn't you mention the Newsweek cover in this thread? The one with the white baby on it that said "Is Your Baby Racist?".

It's disgusting, and Limbaugh actually got one right by mocking it.

Fuck IQ tests, I am going to devise a sarcasm detection test. Some people can't seem to understand sarcasm without a :crazy: or something similar.

notice how all the talking heads on the right have this in common. glenn beck is a recovering alcoholic and now he's a mormon, dont know which one is worse. imus also had his problems with substance abuse. i know the president experimented with cocaine in his youth but he had the will power and good judgment to not get addicted.

bodyman, didnt u experiment with men in your youth? wasnt that part of your rebellious youth? sarcasm or not- it borders on hate speech and thats unacceptable in a country where ppl gave their lives to end desegregation. but then again rush doesnt know anything about being sacrifice as one of america's most notorious draft dodgers.

Where is the border on hate speech again? You are quite the hypocrite and obviously unable to see that my point was in regards to your bigoted comments about Mormons.

As for experimenting with men...........hahhahahahahhahaha. My mom says that I would sneak away with the Sears catalog when I was 3 years old and look at the bra and panty section.

I was in LOVE with a girl in kindergarten. Her name was Jessica, when she moved away I was in love with a girl named Nichole. This went on year after year. New school year, new girl.

In elementary school I knew that I wanted girls even if I didn't know what to do with them. Thank God I didn't grow up in this time where every 6 year old knows what a 69 is. I would have gotten girls pregnant at their earliest ability. I am lucky because some of the things I did when I was 8-12 would be a felony today. I didn't know better.

I am sorry to inform you that until I was exposed to the term homosexual I would have never even thought that men would do those things to each other. I guess the testosterone that according to some makes me a mean angry person makes me different than you and your sausagefest dreams.
