I don't know about this. When my San Francisco Giants won the World Series, I enjoyed it everyday until the WS Champ was declared in 2011. And when they won it again in 2012....... Shit man, it feels great that even with the weak 2013 season they had, people are still mentioning them as an enviable franchise. I guess with the trials and tribulations in my near 3 decades of being a Giants fan, it is easy to revel in it. But 2010 is still magical to me. That entire team..... everyone contributed.
I've endeared far more pain and torture as a Blazers fan. I'm pretty certain that the Blazers winning a title will be something that sticks with me forever. My dad still talks about how awesome it was when they won back in 1976-77. But I'm comparing championship teams to a team that was a lottery team last year and is on a hot streak to start a season.
The Blazers have fooled me enough over the years, though, that just being a relevant and competitive franchise again is great. I'm with maxiep, though, as I am still wary. Before the season, I thought the Blazers could gel and be very competitive (even a 50-win team), but I wasn't expecting it. Not so soon. But I'm going to enjoy it. And not just now during the win streak. If we win 50 games and are a 5-6 seed in the playoffs, I will have enjoyed a solid season from a quality, young team. Going beyond the first round would make it a very exciting, winning season for me.
