Would you trade Collins and a pick for him?

No... But what realistic option do we have? Someone with a better grasp on that would have to chime in. He would be worth a couple of picks and ?? Besides what pick could we get that would produce more than him at this teams stage anyway. We are absolutely in win now mode! I think his fit with Collins would be fantastic.

Maybe something like Skal, Nas/Trent, and a couple picks. I’m sure Indiana will get better offers tho.

Sabonis is quite a bit better than Collins at this point and he has plenty of upside, just like Collins. He doesn't have much of a perimeter game, so it's debatable how suitable he is for PF

but he's due for a huge raise in 8 months. I'd bet the Pacers are looking to do the same thing Portland did when they traded Plumlee for a player with 2 years left on his rookie deal

I would give up draft picks for sabonis. Maybe Skals/Trent for sabonis that about it.

Collins better defender then sabonis and the way Zach been playing on offense this year I would say Sabonis over Zach might not be true.

Offensively he’s definitely better than Zach but defensively he can’t touch Collins imo

If Zach has a year we expect him to have what Sabonis gets paid now might be what Zach value will be..

I can’t believe Pacers don’t want to pay Sabonis what he wants. I thought he looked really good and was still young enough to get even better. I wonder what the Pacers know

Collins is a better rim protector for sure, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's a better overall defender

* Collins had a defensive rating of 110 which was only 0.5 points better than Portland's rating. Sabonis had a defensive rating of 104 which was 2.5 points better than Indiana's rating

* Sabonis had a DRPM of 0.98. Zach had one of 0.93. Sabonis had a def box +/- of 2.2 while Zach was at 1.0

* defensive rebounding is a significant part of defense for a big and Sabonis had a defensive rebounding rate of 29.8% vs Zach at 16.5%

and there are the advanced metrics from last season:

PER: Zach 13.5....Sabonis 21.9
TS%: Zach .562....Sabonis .630
eFG: Zach .523....Sabonis .596
FT Rate: Zach .315....Sabonis .416
Total Reb Rate: Zach 12.7%....Sabonis 20.8%
Assist Rate: Zach 7.1%....Sabonis 18.2%
winshares/48: Zach .104....Sabonis .197
box plus/minus: Zach 0.1....Sabonis 3.7
value over replacement: Zach 0.7....Sabonis 2.6
RPM: Zach -0.53....Sabonis 1.55

it's a slam dunk in favor of Sabonis

now, I know I'll get a lot of push-back on those numbers, but I didn't make them up. It's the Blazer forum. But if this discussion was taking place in a Pacer forum, I doubt you'd find may people trying to argue that Zach was as good as Sabonis

Interesting.. I wouldn’t have thought that. Honestly I wouldn’t mind in trading Zach for Sabonis.

Sabonis is really good. If we are trying to win now he would be a good choice

Nate likes players like Trent Jr...Wes Mathews types...I wouldn't lose Zach for Sabonis or Nas but I'd trade Trent Jr., Skal and a pick for him. I think Nas is going to be a real PF in the future

A Collins, Sabonis, Nurk 3 man big rotation for several years sounds amazing. Unfortunately I don't see a realistic trade to get him.

Boston would be a perfect trade partner. They have the Memphis pick and plenty of matchable contracts. Plus their current big man depth is a huge weakness.

Sabonis is 1.5 years older.

Would you do Nassir Little and a pick?

2018-2019 Per 100 Possession Stats:

Player A - 22 years old, 27.8 pts, 18.4 reb, 5.6 ast, 63.0 TS%, 118 ORTG, 104 DRTG, 0.98 DRPM
Player B - 24 years old, 27.6 pts, 18.4 reb, 5.7 ast, 57.0 TS%, 116 ORTG, 105 DRTG, 3.35 DRPM

Who are they? Who would you rather have?

It would be great to get him, but at this point we cannot afford trading Zach for him although Domas is clearly better right now. Nassir, Trent, pick etc we should do that yesterday.

And with next year's cap space we wouldn't find anyone better.

No matter how many advanced stats you give me, nothing is ever gonna make me take Sabonis over Nurk...

This trade will not happen due there GM will never trade with us due to he got fire here.
