OT Saddest team in the NBA

You underrate New York. They have shot at playoffs.
How? Porzingas is overrated and Hardaway is their 2nd best player...

Indiana has a better chance at making it than New York.

Sacramento gets my vote. Ownership and management have no clue. Brooklyn has made decent moves to get themselves out of the giant hole Billy King dug. Sacramento is still digging and I do not think it will change.

Porzingis is a stud and probably an All Star from this year and for the next decade.

theres five sure playoff teams in the east (CLE, BOS, WSH, TOR, MIL - no particular order), with MIA likely to be 6th seed, then Id put CHA probably as 7th seed, and the rest will fight for 8th seed

back to CHI, theyre bad, but so are other teams that will fight for 8th seed, so they could win than spot, but like I said, theyre all bad, so anyone but ATL and NYK could win that spot

as far as Dunn and Markkanen, I dont rate Dunn and Markkanen is a rookie, so no one can know whats he gonna be like... I forgot they have LaVine, but hes not a guy you build a team arount, so theyre only hope is Markkanen Id say

anyway, Id say their future is not bright...
DET is the best candidate for the 8th seed IMO.

But my nominee for by far and away the saddest NBA franchise is Orlando. Jesus, they must have the worst scouts in the league. And they're paying Bismack Biyombo OVER SEVENTEEN MILLION A YEAR. They need to be purged from top to bottom. The last time they had this little talent at least they weren't paying them anything and they had Doc Rivers as coach.
I don't get it.

A long list it seems like this year. Chicago is probably the worst.

I have to go with Detroit.
Although they have Drummond, Harris, AB, Jackson, and prolly a couple others.
They want to trade Drummond, Harris, AB, Jackson, and prolly a couple others.

BROOKLYN. They were cursed since they moved from Jersey. The last time they had a superstar was Vince Carter. High payroll, Russian oligarchy rich guy made them more despondent.

I don't get it.

Fourniers bounced back and has been killing it. I'd love to get him somehow.

Aaron Gordon and Nikola Vucevic have also been playing out of their minds, and the Jonathan Simmons addition was a good one.

What's your pick for most moribund, no-hope desperate franchise? Some perennial candidates have made moves to improve their futures and even their presents (Sacramento, for example). But obvious candidates include:

Hahahaha! That's why I don't like with "What team will surprise?" threads. If you pick them, it's not a surprise and NO ONE picked Orlando. 4-1 top of east.

I have changed my mind from the Lakers....even worse would be the Hawks

Better than I thought they'd be: Boston (certainly their defense!), Orlando, Indiana, Detroit, Clippers.
Worse: Sacramento, Dallas, Cleveland, Utah.

Agreed. It has to be sad SAC Sacramento. Their owner is an idiot who thinks he is building the next Golden State Warriors. Their GM is a likeable guy who is completely unqualified for the job (which is why the owner hired him, he wanted an easily manipulated puppet), and what a godawful mess of a roster.

They currently have exactly one player on their roster with a double digit PER (Zach Randolf PER = 10.7 and his ORtg and DRtg are 93 and 111). They traded Demarcus Cousins for a shooter who is shooting .263 from downtown. They are currently 1-8, and its actually surprising they played well enough to win a game (over DAL who is currently 1-10).

I would not be surprised to see them break the NBA record for losses in a season, and honestly 1-81 is not out of question.

At least they have a state of the art arena to distract the fans from the shitty product on the court, but when they leave the arena, they are still in Sacramento. I'd be sad, too.

BNM

Chicago - where's their scoring going to come from? Did you know that Rolo was their highest-paid player?
New York - at least they have Porzingis... but they paid Hardaway Jr. HOW much?
Phoenix - they took fliers on Bender and Chriss - and both of them are looking awfully bust-ish.
Indiana - now Oladipo is the face of the franchise?

Orlando huh. Your eating ass now. I guess its still early in the season though.

I've changed my mind: it's either the Mavs or the Cavs.

The Mavs are hopeless. Nowitski should have retired years ago. He will after this season if not during it. The have a couple young prospects. But its nit looking good for Cuban who is used to winning.

The Lakers are actually playing better than I thought they would. That makes me sad.
