After 19 years with the franchise, Sarah Mensah, Portland Trail Blazers Cheif Operating Officer, has resigned.

Mensah announced her decision via Twitter, “After 19 amazing years its time to call it quits. Thanks Blazers team and fans for some amazing memories.”

Mensah originally joined the Trail Blazers organization in 1993 and is considered by many as one of the high-ranking women in professional sports. She played a significant role in the team's 195 consecutive home sellout streak that ended earlier this month and ticket revenue has doubled under her watch.

Prior to her role as the team's COO, Mensah served as the Trail Blazers Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing. Mensah is a native of Portland and is a University of Oregon graduate.

Scary time for Blazers employees. Rebuilding team, new president w/ no ties to region, lagging ticket sales, stuck in bad TV deal.

PCP betta watch his back FAMS!

^To say the least.

Golliver is clueless!!!

Serious question, what is wrong with what Ben tweeted?

I thought it was common knowledge that Larry Miller was against the hiring of Olshey. The only part I question about his 2 tweets is "That wasn't going to play with new basketball operations administration." The rest seems pretty accurate.

I just wanted to call HCP PCP tbh.

Plus i know we don't like BG, so killing two birds with one stone.

"Scary time for Blazers employee's" a load of crap

All the changes have been for the better

I went to a very select season ticket holders lunch a few weeks back. My buddy was led to belief that it was to meet the new team president so he invited me along. Instead it was to show 5 of the Blazer's longest term season ticket holders how to use the new paperless ticket program. Except they couldn't show them anything. The computer in the conference room didn't work. After 45minsw of fucking around they finally got a laptop in there but that was too small for anyone to see. Then I suggested that they hook the Laptop up to the TV on the wall. They then searched for 10mins trying to find a HDMI cord. Finally they get it working but they couldn't log into any of the ticket reps accounts to show how to transfer tickets. It was such a giant cluster fuck it was funny but honestly there were about 4 people there who should have been fired. You don't fuck around with your longest season ticket holders in such an incompetent way.

A little house cleaning from time to time never does an organization as big as the Blazers any harm.

Lagging ticket sales b/c the promise of Roy/Oden and his multiple championships is gone, and the team last year was one that quit (following a mutiny and a lockout), all while ticket prices have increased (by almost triple in some sections since 2008? That was the previous administration, right, Ben? Where was the scathing denunciation then? Where was the "scary time for Blazers employees" then?

Rebuilding team. I think there's universally thought to be more promise with the team now than at any point in the last 12 years, with the exception of the one season Roy/LMA/Oden were all "healthy".

Stuck in bad TV deal---by a president that's no longer with the team and was supposed to bring his "local ties" and Jordan-making business acumen to the franchise and instead was supposedly outgunned by Bert Kolde and Hat Guy.

But they ran around and gave everyone there a brand new Blazer hat for wasting their time.

Maybe Zags can help me on this, is she the chick that was always walking around in the knee high boots and the sexy outfits?

Nope... not her.

She may already have something in the works. Otherwise, why resign?

BNM

Because she can. Maybe she doesn't feel the need to work right now. There's a lot more to our brief lives than work, especially if you're making the kind of money she made. Maybe she'll "get a life". :dunno:

Lagging ticket sales compared to what - an 195 game sellout streak? All but one game has been at or near capacity, and even that was a larger crowd than most of the other 29 teams can hope to draw. Chicken Little at Blazersedge is being his usual over-the-top self.

To test out Ben's theory we can just go staright to a source on this site:

Hey HCP, is this a scary time to be a Blazer employee? Any scarier than last year or previous years?

I know not everything has to be sent to me with a rose colored tint, I am fine hearing negative things about the Blazers, hearing comments on fixing, whatever. I just feel like Ben tweets far more negative comments than positive, and as a fan, just annoys me, personally. I dunno if it is in an attempt to become bigger by looking unbiased, could very easily be the way he feels. And that's fine, I suppose. It's just not for me. It's almost the same as Dwight. There's pisutuve stuff you COULD write, tweet, etc. But they tend to focus primarily on the negative. I can think critically about my team, but I don;t generally follow a team as a fan to root against them.
