GO YANKEES!

Glad to see Hicks coming around with the bat but his directional routes in the field need work.

Yankees signed RHP Chad Green and RHP Conor Mullee to Major League Contracts as per The Yes Network.

...I noticed that too...he misjudged 3 in one game last week while playing CF...not recall him having that kind of trouble while playing the corner OF positions.

Today is Arod Replica Bat Day. I wonder if Rick would like one. :biglaugh:

The Yankees have acquired RHP J.R. Graham from the Minnesota Twins for a player to be named later or cash. He will be optioned to Trenton Thunder as per The Yankees P.R. Dept.

I like the way Hicks is swinging the bat since he's become a regular.

Note to Rick: put your glasses on buddy, that "Play Ball" patch on every players chest is singular; not plural, and does not have - "with your" on it.....

Betances out, can any SP pitch more than 5.2/3rds....

Rick, I would prefer Hicks over either Gardner or Ellsbury. I think he has a bigger impact going forward, a Bernie Williams lite type, you heard it here first lol.

Indeed.... :biglaugh:I can see the comparison...less filling too..!

Just got in spent the afternoon moving furniture. Absolutely stunned by todays game looked like a gutsy performance on both sides. If the Yankees keep getting short inning from the starters the damn pen will be burned out by July. Note to Harrelson: you can put it in the books yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Starters cannot get over the 6 inning hump. Shameful.
Praise to the back end bullpen. Already they will need days
off. The wins should be treasured because I do not see an
extended winning streak out of this team.

I agree guys, at this rate the bullpen is going to be burnt out by the ASG.

___________

Yanks should try to get Hicks more playing time to find out what they have and if he can progress.
One time 1st round pick -last year first time with at least 300 AB (352)
His first season 2103 was a bust, since then has done well vs LHP including .307/.870 last year (.256/.721 overall) and also raised his BA 50 pts vs RHP (.235).
I believe there's still a chance for him to become a good everyday player, I don't think they'll be much middle ground with this guy, he'll either evolve into a .240-.250 hitter with modest power or turn into good- very good player.

Incidently, the guy they traded for him, John Ryan Murphy, just got sent to the minors.

wow, Hicks will be playing for another 87 years and locked up thru 2103, Wowee Wow Wow wow... back to the future or past...?

...^^^yup, and I gotta love the obviously biased comparison between the two players. J R Murphy has had only 40 ABs in part time duty this year...after the same number of 40 ABs Hicks was hitting around .125 Hicks started off so slowly that his BA (.067) could only go up...in fact it was so bad that on May 5th he went 1 for 3 and it raised his BA 24 points.

...but apparently for some misguided reason Murphy's slow start warranted him being sent down but Hicks' slow start warranted him getting more playing time.

...thankfully, Hicks has hit well for the last week (10 for 29) but when he cools back off, and he will, the pompoms will predictably fall silent again. What's next?...fellating Tex and Headley if/when their average finally goes above .2oo?

One got a full time chance & the other one didn't. I still think that given a FULL TIME chance John Ryan Murphy could be a solid ML catcher.
