RIP...this is the guy who Neil Young wrote tonights the night for as a tribute after he passed.....fuck Rod Stewart...this is the original

Here’s a really great Steve Earle cover from a lesser known guy. You probably know the song. Filmed here In Wyoming.

awesome....I'm a huge Steve Earle and Townes Van Zandt fan...saw Steve Earle in Eugene a few years back on his Never Get through this world alive tour.....my favorite Earle album is Townes...all Townes Van Zandt songs done by Steve

One of Johnny's last...dripping country soul...guy just turns his soul inside out

This guy made me want to play banjo although he's fiddling here....used to have a bunch of his records

Never heard of this guy but he's awesome!
He’s been around for years (he’s a year or two older than us) and he kicks ass. His wife (the lovely Tanya Rae) is a helluva musician in her own right. Junior invented the “Guitsteel” guitar, combining a regular guitar with a pedal steel guitar. Ungainly contraption that sits on a stand in front of him but he plays it like it was part of him. He also writes some truly inspired lyrics. My understanding is that he refuses to play the “big machine” corporate games and is just fine being a big star in Austin while playing small venues around the country. He is well worth exploring further.

Love it...the finest musicians I've ever met were not famous...some don't even do it for a living. Lot of jazz guys play 50 shows a year in places they like to go to and never play big cities...his guitar/pedal steel is amazing...guy has a great baritone voice as well...tight band! True gem and thanks for sharing it...I'll keep my eye out for any shows he does around here.

Awesome story from Snoop about him and Willie.

I was listening to my old Ray Charles "Modern Sounds of Country Music" today....guys like Ray and Willie make any style of music their own
