Re: Schedule

Schedule coming soon

Actually, last year it was released around the first week of August

Re: Schedule

Word from a friend at The Game is that the pre-season schedule may be released today or tomorrow.

Re: Schedule

Looks like we are playing PHX in Steve Nash's hometown on Oct. 22nd.

Vancouver, B.C. - The Phoenix Suns will play another pre-season game at a neutral site this October. This time they will play near where Steve Nash grew up in British Columbia.

Nash is a native of Victoria, BC, and the game will be played in Vancouver.

The NBA Pre-Season game will be between the Suns and Trail Blazers on Thursday, October 22nd.

Re: Schedule

Well thanks to thevolv on OLive, it appears Clutchfans got a leak of the Houston schedule here:

http://www.clutchfans.net/news/1541/full_2009-10_rockets_schedule_leaked/

Looks like our home opener is going to be 10/27 against Houston. And we'll be Houston's home opener on Halloween.

I find this odd though because 10/27 is the big opening night as it is Tuesday and the Lakers will most definitely be opening that night as well. They usually go an east game and a west game with some random third game in the middle. So perhaps they're either going to move our game to start early, if this schedule leak is true, or we're going to be on NBA Tv or something.

Re: Schedule

^^ I'm sure the NBA isnt happy with this getting leaked (if its correct).

There's always one or two teams that get leaked a few days before the release, but I agree that the NBA can't be happy that this appears to have leaked a little over a week before it would appear to get released. I wonder if this will move up their date for a full release. I sure hope so.

Re: Schedule

Oh oops, didn't notice this thread, good thing it got merged.

Also yea, that's weird, Oct. 27th is opening night too. Didn't think we'd get chosen for that 3 years in a row!

Re: Schedule

It seems like that this is almost the perfect game to get Oden off to a good start. Without Yao I dont think the Rockets have another player taller than 6'9". Im not saying that Oden will dominate but he should be able to be a factor especially if the Rockets have to double down on him and Oden should rebound well against that line-up. When you combine this with the first game being a home opener and the revenge factor this a great first game for us.

Re: Schedule

They're going to use the shit hole that is the memorial coliseum for an exhibition game?

Re: Blazers to Open vs. Rockets..Eww

Why eww? No Yao, probably no McGrady. Ariza instead of RonRon. Seems like a victory for the Blazers. 1-0 baby!

Re: Blazers to Open vs. Rockets..Eww

No Artest, No Yao, who knows about T-Mac.

Add in the bitterness of losing to them in the 1st round.

10+ point victory.

Could that be right? It might be kind of fun to rock the old barn for one night.

I wonder if we will see more throw back jersey appearance through out the season since it is to celebrate the 40th anniversary and all. That'd be sweet.

Looks like they are using the MC because that night as part of the 40th anniversary celebration.

PORTLAND, Ore. – As part of a season-long celebration of the team’s 40th anniversary, the Portland Trail Blazers will return to the Memorial Coliseum on October 14, highlighting an eight-game preseason schedule announced today.

For the first time, the Trail Blazers will return to the venue they called home from 1970-95. Portland will host the Phoenix Suns, reuniting the two teams that played in the final NBA game at the Coliseum on Tuesday, May 2, 1995.

“We are excited to have an opportunity to host a ‘turn-back-the-clock’ game at the Memorial Coliseum,” Trail Blazers President Larry Miller said. “It will be very nostalgic for many Trail Blazers fans, and for others a chance to see the team play in its original venue for the first time.”

40th anniversary? First season was 1970-71, right? And this is the 2009-2010 season, right? Am I missing something?

71 81 91 01
72 82 92 02
73 83 93 03
74 84 94 04
75 85 95 05
76 86 96 06
77 87 97 07
78 88 98 08
79 89 99 09
80 90 00 10

40 seasons.

So throwback night is a preseason game?

Hopefully they won't wear their throwback uniforms that night because hardly anyone will get to see them.

Is that Denver game a home game? If so, I wonder if season ticket holders get tickets to the game at the MC or not.

Re: Schedule

Yes, that's right. Both teams will be wearing throw-back jerseys

Man, I've been pushing for this for years! Every preseason doing a 70's or 80's night in the MC with old gear, prices, music etc.

Would/Will be ace

That's the one thing missing from the Rose Garden. Soul. The MC has mounds of it.

Big doors with Big letters
