Politics School walkouts

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

If they're mobilizing to attempt to effect legislative change regarding an issue about which they're passionate, I think that's absolutely acceptable and even commendable, especially if they have parental permission/support. We talk about teaching our children to think critically; doesn't that involve considering the potential impact of their choices and community involvement and acting in a manner they believe would be most constructive for them, for society as a whole, and for future generations?

If I am being put in a position where I am a lamb ripe for the slaughter from every redneck freeman jackoff talking to God on a one way radio.... you can be damn sure I am going to utilize my right to demonstrate for a change in legislation. It's their asses on the line. Good for them using their right to protest.

The shooter is in jail. I could see if the judge gave him a slap on tge wrist, by all means, protest. But what the fuck are you protesting? You want more laws? Good. Vote to double the fines for DUIs and use the revenue to put 2 armed cops in every school and offer teachers a 10% pay bonus if they take concealed carry and defensive tactics courses. Now you have a more tyranical government presence and you keep your sticky fingers off my god damn guns and step the fuck off my constitutional rights.

Any kid is going to join a walkout it gets them out of class. They dont give a fuck what its for. The parents and teachers are just lazy and dont want to do their jobs.

Id love for just one fucking liberal to put their money where their mouth is and come take my guns. You better come unarmed you hypocritical spineless fucks.

This.

1st amendment rights of free speech and to assemble and to redress grievances.

It's democracy in action.

Doesn't make them right, though. People are free to do the same to urge we become a communist nation, too.

They have the right to. But their all fucking morons. Protesting use to be used against an unfair goverment, not demanding a more tyranical government. Public school has completely warped a whole generation who ignores history.

If someone blasts this patriotic shit in the middle of that protest ill give them a solid handy.

Hahahahahahahaha.

Now teach the kids. It's not law abiding citizens that murdered your peers. It's fucking scumbag criminals. So we will prosecute and punish criminals, not the law abiding citizens.

The fuck are you protesting? Go back to school you lazy little shits!

So just to recap... You're against innocent, defenseless students practicing their first amendment rights to try and change a pretty fucked up scenario, but you're comfortable threatening the life of anyone who dares even question your interpretation of the second amendment?

Quite the American you are. Must be nice to live in an ala carte world...

"liberals" aren't coming for your guns (and it'd be the government who would be "taking them away" from you. And they'd succeed because they have slightly more guns than you do. But they aren't, it's a moot point. Plus, it's not like there are gangs of liberals going door to door demanding you give up your guns). So good job bringing up a red herring.

The killings will continue until morale improves.

Definitely an improvement, I was trying to give him a sliver of benefit of doubt, but your point is a good one. I won't be surprised if a lot of these "gun enthusiasts" have their own Alamo before all is said and done... Just because... a vast majority of this country thinks its unreasonable for random citizens to have weapons of war? I'm still not entirely sure what they're so vehemently bought into...

Gun Fetishists. They get off on the fantasy of killing bad guys with their big metal penises.

While I do not agree with their message, as long as they have permission to present their opinions in a lawful and legal manor, then what they are doing is fine.

I would much rather see them participate in the process like this, rather than acting like other groups that wear masks, costumes, burn and loot or even attack people.

Curious what part of their message you don't agree with? Genuinely.

The chasm of difference between owning hunting rifles, and even handguns for protection, and assault rifles is enormous, and the money being spent by "interest groups" to continue to allow weapons of war to be sold (for large profits, by the way) is a stain on this country.

Frankly, I feel that the amount of regulations currently in place is adequate. For those that do not know the difference between an AR 15 and an M 16, The first is a sporting rifle popular for target shooting, varmint hunting and small game.

The other is an assault rifle that is highly regulated. You can not own one that has the option to go full auto unless you meet federal regulations and requirements.

To address the problem we currently have with school shootings is going to take a larger discussion than the demand to remove guns. Mental health needs to be addressed and defined. School security needs to be a priority.

I am not sure what you want done here. I am not sure you do either. What is an assault rifle in your mind? Does it always out gun a, say .270 Winchester?

Come on now, children aren't small game.

I think I will sit this one out about the kids protesting.
I sort of think it's like practicing to shoot baskets the wrong way. The practice is not of much value if not harmful.
