School is just around the corner. I actually feel like Summer just started, unfortunately, there's just 3 more weeks left for me. It may sound like a lot of time for some, but this is the time I usually to start dread about the beginning of school. Uhh.

In my school you get to pick the type of gym you want. Weight Lifting, Basketball, volleyball, soccer, football etc.

Yeah at my high school it's a class for all grades. You do three on three tournaments, five on five tournaments, have a playoffs between all the teams, and learn about things like the history of the game and defenses and strategies and stuff. It's awesome. And I have the same thing as Kidd. There's a bunch of different forms of P.E. and you pick which you want.

Luckyass. We play 4 different sports, but I'd rather play basketball the whole time.

BTW I wouldn't recommend taking Drivers Ed at your school. Its a whole semester you have to be there at like 7 in the morning. I did drivers ed on the internet in like 3 days during the summer working on it an hour or two a day.

god i can't wait for school to start, mainly cause i want my licence (i get it 5 days after school to start) i sordof regret taking the classes that i took in my senior year but i wanted to make a good impression on colleges.

Yeah it would definitely help you. I've actually been taking side classes at the Poynter Institute near my house. It's a writing school where sports reporters and writers from all around the country come to teach young writers how to improve their work. I assume that I'm going to be learning some of the same things in my Journalism class that I learn at the Institute so it will definitely help to take that if you plan on being a writer in the future. It could also help your writing now and I think you would notice drastic improvements after a little while.

Hey, you wanna be a sports writer? Same here. I'm going to try to get into Ryerson, a journalism college. I see all the guys here on the writing team, I wanna try to get on that, but I doubt it will ever happen. I'm trying to get into co-op with The Star or Fan 590.

I took Algebra 1a in eight grade. I took it again in 9th. I was supposed to have Algebra 1b this year, but they changed it so everyone who had algebra 1a takes one this year. So I'll be taking algebra 2 in my senior year. Let's just say me and math don't get along.

I do good in other subjects though.

Yeah I do. I've been offered a sports writing job by the Tampa Tribune but I had to wait until next summer to take it when I'm not so busy. I STRONGLY encourage you to join the writing team on here so you can gain experience and possibly get press passes to cover Raptors games. That means you'd get to interview the players, go into the locker rooms, and cover the games just like the professionals do. It's great and you gain loads of experience in the process. That's what I do with the Magic and it let me know that I really would love to do something like this for the rest of my life.

You got offered the job already? Damn, Swish that's crazy. What grade are you going to and what college is the best for journalism cause I want to be a Sports writer too.

Yeah it was a job covering high school sports. I met the guy at the Poynter Institute I was talking about and showed him one of my JustBBall articles. He gave me his card and said they're looking for high school writers to cover different schools in the area and I should give him a call. I was going too but I was really busy this summer so I couldn't. I'm going into 11th grade and this is the year I start looking at colleges. I have heard that the University of Florida is really good when it comes to Journalism (the guy who offered me the job told me that when I asked him and some sites rank it pretty high). Northwestern is another great one but I can't really go out of state so my options are basically limited to University of Florida, University of South Florida, and the University of Central Florida.
