I’d like to know 3 things

1 What are you hoping for in his first couple of games back

2 What are your non rose garden color glasses expectations

3 What will make you go full Aldo or King

3 What will make you go Aldo or King

1. Rust and not out of control shooting and no injury

2. A slightly better version of what he was at the end of last year but still meh.

3. If he's playing under control and shooting better.

He’s going to be rusty going to take some time to get in game shape. I just want to see him be composed and play with controlled speed. Look to get teammates involved and let his offensive game come to him.

Sure we are going to only get 20 minutes a game for first 5 games so play ass off on defensive end

1. Don't re-injure himself, soft tissue injuries are too easy to aggravate
2. Shake off the rust in the first few games and then show glimpses of being the PG of the future, play fast but under control, get teammates involved, improve shooting. Most importantly show that this isn't a totally wasted season, even it it's going to be far from the 'taking the reigns' type of season most of us hoped he would have.

Judging by the reactions of Holiday being rusty, there will be no shortage of fans who will expect Scoot to be incredible out the gate, and when he's not label him a bust and a waste of a pick.

Full Aldo: 5 /1/1, 2-9 FG, 0-4 3P, 5 turnovers, fouls out, -20

Full King: 23/5/5, 8-13 FG, 3-7 3P, 2 turnovers.

Expectation: somewhere in-between those two (but closer to the lower end). Something like what Wesley just put up against Phoenix--10/1/4 on 8 shots with 1 turnover--would be pretty decent

want him to play "within himself" and not try to do too much too soon. Take care of the ball, take shots that are there and don't force things

as others have said expect rust and hope for him to finish the season without missing any games because of injury

as for the aldo vs king standard....lol, we may have a new S2 gauge. but....

thing is with the following I know the sample sizes are massively different and probably unfair to Scoot, but Scoot last season vs Wesley this season:

1770398747085.png
* Scoot scores 5.4 more points by taking 3.3 more FGA and making 2.3 more FT's
* Blake has better FG% and 2ptFG%; Scoot has better 3ptFG%, FT% and TS%
* Blake is better at assist average, turnover average, assist rate and turnover rate
* Blake is a better rebounder
* Blake doubles-up Scoot in steal average and steal rate
* Blake has better marks in PER; winshare/48; and BPM

pretty clearly Blake is the better, more disruptive defender. He also pushes transition at an elite level although the results are often the opposite of elite
(note: Blake has played 2,365 minutes over 164 games; Scoot has 3,524 minutes over 128 games)

from this skewed unbalanced 8 game sample for Blake, he's pretty clearly a better backup PG at this point. So what I'd like to see from Scoot is him demonstrate by the end of this season that a 3rd pick in the draft is clearly on a better trajectory than somebody Cronin dug up from the NBA scrap heap

So excited he’s back. My favorite player on our roster.
That's kind of cool to hear. You must feel like he has a lot of potential and a high ceiling? I'm excited about him, too. Glad that they didn't trade him away and miss out on seeing what he can do. I keep thinking about the training videos that were shared over the summer and just something seemed different about him. I don't know if it was how he appeared physically or something about his personality or a mind shift. Or all of the above. One thing is for sure, he has a lot to prove and if he doesn't get hurt, it will be very interesting to see what he can do.

as to number 3...you NEVER go full Aldo!
as to number 1...my hope is he doesn't get injured
as to number 2...that our last bunch of draft picks actually gets playoff experience and we don't tank for another lottery pick.

Saw a stat players that pull hamstrings are 81% more likely to pull them again.

I’m damn excited to see him play even in limited minutes

Here is my prediction...

Scoot will rack up 25pts, 12 assists, 4 steals tonight.

Blazer fans go nuts!

Tomorrow it will be announced he reinjured his hammy and is out for the rest of the season.

Chauncey warned us at the start of the season. Scoot showed great promise in the summer. We'll see if Chauncey was being truthful or bluffing.
If I was a gambling man I'd say he was holding his cards a bit close to his vest to know exactly what he was betting on. Pretty tough to bluff when you know everyone is watching. And we all know who was watching now.

We all bought into the hype. I know it is his first game back. I just don't think his ceiling is nearly as high as we all hoped.
