If he could hit a three it would be better.

Ironically, until this recent drought, he shot the 3 better for his career than Shaedon. Even with this slump, Shaedon's only .003 better than Scoot.

He shot 35% last year. He was 42.3% over his first four games this year and that included a game where he was 0-3.

Then everything fell apart for him in every facet of the game.

There is no question that the Hamstring injury affects your jump shot.
Maybe he can work through this and get a rhythm again?

Except his 3-point shooting was bordering on excellent for two weeks and then fell off a cliff. He dropped 20 percentage points in like seven games, and he wasn't just taking one or two 3s per game when he was shooting better than 43%.

Scoot's shots not broken. It looks fundamentally as it should. He just doesn't seem to believe he can make open shots anymore and I'm at a loss as to what brought that on.

The key part of that statement was “For two weeks”. Really it was 5 games and yes that makes perfect sense.

The main problem with Scoot isn't shooting or limited athleticism. Some of that can be corrected but it's his overall decision making which negatively impacts his play. Hamstring or not, I've never been a fan of the G-League mentality that his game embodies (Jalen Green is similar). That was probably the main reason I had Amen over him.

As such, I think it needs to be drilled into his head that he is not a superstar PG and should stop trying to chase that image. It'd actually make him better.

What he can be is Jrue Holiday, provided he focus on playmaking and defense while learning to settle for opportunistic scoring. If he prioritizes that, his decision making will suddenly improve and his worth will be far more valuable to the team.

Then, it's just a matter of re-adjusting to the things we saw last season, with a 35% 3pt shot (inconsistent but still decent) and the ability to slow down while driving to the rim not unlike Deni (who he worked out with)

I thought the Blazers are your favorite team….. why would a player on our roster not living up to the hype make you type “lol”? Is him struggling funny to you?

Would having some other weapons on the floor like Deni and Shar help scoot. Give him more room to work? Was he playing better when Deni and Shae were out there?

We need to be very patient with Scoot. He just needs to break out of this slump. Remember the game against Wemby before the draft? He's got it. Judge him by the end of the season

These are valid points. But today he started the game with four competent players. It’s a tough time to be patient.
