so in canada they make you take french as a course in class and you need the credit or else you have to redo it again.....but if you pass then you can drop it in grade 10. I dont knwo if you have to take a second language in USA but here it is our official second language so F*ck this.it is THE BORINGEST class anyone could EVER take... I fall asleep everytime. Nobody even listens and they don't learn anything...its a completely useless class and id be fine with going to a useless class if we didnt have to listen through the whole class and it brings the average down....so fk this stupid language.if it like this in the states?

Yeah, most schools make you take a second language of choice to graduate. Spanish is probably the most common.

Yeah I made the stupid mistake of taking French as a third language (I already know spanish), and I must tell you that it was the dumbest mistke ever. The class is useless because no important nation other than France speaks French. I mean I really doubt Ill go to Senegal anytime during my lifetime. In addition, the language is mad boring so it is impossible to stay awake.I hope the french language dissapears, so it wont torture anyone anymore. Its so bad I dont even wish it upon my worst enemies.

I'm only majoring in french.... :)To me it was always easy, but whatever. I was born in French-speaking canada, but we moved to michigan when I was about 3. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The class is useless because no important nation other than France speaks French.</div>The same can be said about Spanish...

Hey atleast Spain, Mexico and Argentina speak it. Thats atleast a little better. And ofcourse my country Colombia. The coke capital of the world

Yeah, I have to take it. It's probably my worst subject. I don't understand what the teacher is saying half the time, and it's really boring. I got a C in French last year, and Im not getting any better at it..

well at least you passed I know this is nothing in comparison but I think I got a F in spanish in 2nd grade but thatwas a while ago and it doesn't compare to learning a language in high school

I think the Spanish language is more important to know than the French language. In the U.S. at least the Spanish speaking population is growing. Just by knowing Spanish fluently, a whole field of jobs opens up to you. There are plenty of service oriented jobs that need people who can speak Spanish fluently. On the other hand - there aren't many French oriented jobs. Also, not to many French speaking people in the U.S.

I'm also taking French, as a 3rd language(Spanish, English) but I have an A+

It's really easy for me, but it's easier to people who speak spanish because they're both romance languages, and they have a lot of similarities.

Yeah it's like that where I live in the US. You have to have 2 foreign language credits in high school. I'm taking spanish right now. I've always heard French was fun O.o.

French fun? LMAO! That's a joke. It sucks big time. BIIIG time. My teacher spits whenever she talks. She's sooo annoying too. Her name is Ms.McRitchie but we call her Ms.McBitchy...

France, Canada, West Africa, Central Africa.Ya Canada is not an important nation. Yet we trade with eachother 1.2 Billion U.S across the border each day. Face It. Thats 40% of your GDP per year. Without Canada, the American economy is as good as gone, (vice versa as well)

On top of that, imports take away from GDP, not contribute to it. We have an extreme trade deficit, so our GDP would be higher if we didn't trade with you.I'm not saying you don't contribute, but you're making it sound ridiculously higher than it actually is.
