Comparing the events of the bible and the belief that Jesus is the son of God to the Memphis Grizzles, Ceasar, and the holocaust (!?) is just about the strangest thing I've ever read on here, and you've had some tough competition...

It's not hard to find evidence supporting my bullshit claim if you really want to find it. However I think you'd rather just argue semantics on a messageboard until the sun goes down. You're already on the internet, the evidence is at your fingertips.

But most likely you'd rather not go searching because you're emotionally invested and afraid of what you'll find, I get it. And believe it or not I know why people feel the need to believe in something like religion (justice, fellowship, peace of mind, hope, etc). And I shouldn't be discouraging that. I only meant to lob in a few sarcastic comments but obviously got carried away and will now leave. In the end you'll see what you want to see and interpret the bible the way you want to interpret it (as evidence by that ridiculous link BlazerFanatic posted).

I may not believe, but that doesn't mean I don't love all you believers. There are some good qualities preached in the bible, this one above most, I wish everyone would contemplate this passage regardless of religion.

It is a very important teaching that many people don't follow. Instead most people want to bring thy neighbor down to exhault themselves. A common practice among Christians and non Christians alike.

Others countered, “How can a bad man do miraculous, God-revealing things like this?” There was a split in their ranks.

17 They came back at the blind man, “You’re the expert. He opened your eyes. What do you say about him?”

He said, “He is a prophet.”

18-19 The Jews didn’t believe it, didn’t believe the man was blind to begin with. So they called the parents of the man now bright-eyed with sight. They asked them, “Is this your son, the one you say was born blind? So how is it that he now sees?”

20-23 His parents said, “We know he is our son, and we know he was born blind. But we don’t know how he came to see—haven’t a clue about who opened his eyes. Why don’t you ask him? He’s a grown man and can speak for himself.” (His parents were talking like this because they were intimidated by the Jewish leaders, who had already decided that anyone who took a stand that this was the Messiah would be kicked out of the meeting place. That’s why his parents said, “Ask him. He’s a grown man.”)

24 They called the man back a second time—the man who had been blind—and told him, “Give credit to God. We know this man is an impostor.”

25 He replied, “I know nothing about that one way or the other. But I know one thing for sure: I was blind . . . I now see.”

Reading the people bringing up old laws in the bible to show how bad and terrible religion is reminds me of arguments I had with my old wife.

"Yeah but what you did years ago is who you are now! You can't change and your destined to fail because if it"

It's the negativity that drives you. No hope, no grace, love cannot overcome. It's a fucking joke.

Things completely changed the moment Jesus came, lived a sin free life and became the ultimate sacrifice. That man doesn't need to live by works because Jesus already did that so we don't have to.

Once we accept Christ; all the old laws are a thing of the past. We become Christ and never need to worry about that anymore. We can live knowing that we are now worthy because Christ made us worthy.
