I get the overall point of this, in terms of on-field competition, and agree.

But in actuality, the Super Bowl has become an overhyped shit-show, and everything else overshadows the game. I'm really looking forward to the games this weekend, because they're going to be great fucking games, some of the better games in some time. And because the glam, glitz, and sideshow shit isn't so magnified that it overshadows the performance on the field. I mean, I am stoked to sit in front of the TV and watch 2 games, 6+ hours of awesome football this Sunday (even better watching when the players are in life-size).

I agree about this weekends games, but in regards to all the pomp an shit for SB Sunda, I think the storyline between the 2 NFC teams would be mroe enjoyable to sit through, personally. 2 teams that don't like eachother, coaches that don't like eachother, etc. 2 really good defenses, 2 really good young QBs, 2 teams with very good RBs. Evenly matched on a neutral field. I don't want to hear about Brady. Been there, done that. hate Belichick. Don't want to hear about what another win or loss would do for Peyton's legacy.

He's why I think they will march up to Seattle and win this weekend. I think he can get his team thinking that its them versus the world. And in the end, I think they will be one step faster than Seattle. That and I think their two previous opponents on the road were a good tune up for them this weekend.

Totally agree. I just am tired of the whole ordeal that the Super Bowl is. It's supposed to be a football game. I even get the commercials. But the craziness of the two weeks leading up, the halftime, etc.... UGH!

But yeah, it'd make for a more interesting Super Bowl, and better discussion. But part of me is glad it's happening this weekend, where the football itself isn't overshadowed.

There's a lot of talk on the Manning legacy this week. I think it's huge leading into this game, seeing how New England has dominated both Denver and Peyton Manning (obviously, mostly during his time with the Colts). Even if Denver makes the SB, I think the legacy chatter gets overshadowed in the SB a bit. And if he loses this weekend, that's the end of the discussion (even better - I hate Peyton Manning).

It's funny because the Seahawks weren't even interesting to me until they moved them into the same conference as the Niners and they started eating up all the television coverage.

Football fans don't really register for me because I live so far away from Seattle or San Francisco. Maybe if I lived in the same city I would feel differently. Generally I've always liked Blazer fans. There is a healthy number of front runners who come and go as the team has success, but I think most of the fans are fairly knowledgeable. I think it's interesting though, have you ever had a conversation with a casual fan and tried to talk to them about in-depth analysis and they kind of just gloss over and say things like, "Damian Lillard is good."

A local Seattle radio station pranked a 49ers fan by pretending to be the Seahawks ticket's office & her reaction is priceless!

No. Its two cities I just hate the sports teams from

Seattle because its the rival city historically. Hated the Sonics. Hate the Thunder after they moved. Hate the college teams. Could never get to cheer for the Mariners nor Seahawks because they were Seattle and I'm from Portland. Having a lot of friends that moved up there, you could imagine I get a lot of "12th man" bullshit in their acoustically modified stadium.

"Frisco" because...I live in LA and are conditioned to hate everything about Northern California. Hate the Warriors, hate the Giants, hate the 49ers...oakland, not so much. Also had college roomates from the Bay Area and I was sick about them telling me about how "dope it is" and the stupid "YAY ARRRREAAAAAA" thing they do. We always go back and forth talking shit about various sports teams, usually warriors and giants. Get the "QUEST FOR SIX" alot.

Also there's a theory I have regarding the techy "fans" from the area (Seattle and Bay Area) and the "loyalty" to their team. That's another discussion though. :MARIS61:

I hated the Sonics and their fans, as well as the Huskies and their fans, so I'm not sure how I'm supposed to suddenly share a kinship with these people over a football team that's in the same fucking city.

I actually like the Warriors. I don't really care about baseball, so the Giants don't mean much to me, but I like the A's. I like San Francisco a hell of a lot more than Seattle. When I go up there, I feel like I'm in a corporate created version of Portland. Everyone in Portland is dirty hipster, while everyone in Seattle is clean and preppy hipster. They actually shower up there.
