Sean Spicer off to a good start

I'm amused. Every president has lied in my lifetime.....Bill Clinton was even dibarred for it, Bush Jr did, Obama did....not sure why it's a surprise the next president did.
I really try to be amused but you might not have been around for Nixon....big difference...my problem with Trump is the pattern of lies and entering the office with a press secretary lying....lying about releasing his taxes...lying about whether or not he trusts the CIA...lying about seeing Clinton jailed, on and fucking on...we didn't write this script...it's pretty damned ugly

Interesting how conspicuously absent the usual Trump Fanboys are from this thread. Maybe they're so butt hurt from today's truths that they can't sit down at their computers......????

Sorry bruh. Was snowboarding the last two days. What's the hoopla all about? I saw the damn thing live, the crowd was not as big as Obama's, but bigger than Clinton's. I don't see a problem here other than some bias media outlets trying to cause division when they were getting their digs in against Trump.

I would love to see Trump kick CNN and CBS out of the press area. Their outlets are, and have been, terrible since the election cycle started if not earlier.

I watched the CIA briefing, I highly doubt there was paid actors there, or Trump-men to do fake applause. From the live feed it sounded like the whole room was cheering and applauding, so /shrug whatever. I wouldn't believe the media anyway. There is an agenda constantly with them. Overall I could give two shits though. Why? Because he's President and it doesn't matter.

I definitely love him talking shit to the media though, fuck em. They never did the US public any good anyway.

My god man, learn the game before you post.

The crowd was the biggest ever, PERIOD. As part of Team Trump, you are expected to agree with, and defend, that 'alternative fact'.

No it wasn't. LOL, but I do expect Trump to say that. That's how he rolls. Hasn't anyone figured that out yet?

Yes, Trump is completely full of shit, and at least some of us figured that out long ago. There are clearly a few here who have not.

Golly, you could be useful.

Then again, one of my friends said Obama had never lied about anything and he was the only one ever to have been completely honest. Yawn....it's just as bad on one side as the other.

If you want to keep your doctor...

Lie of the year by a lot of news sources.

No hubbub, just laughing at the thin skinned administration. Clown town.

My favorite was the, If you like your health care plan, you can keep your health care plan!

My was already gone, and he was still saying it.

How many fingers am I holding up, Winston?

Four.

And if the party says there are not four but five, how many?

Four.

[after repeated bouts of torture]

Four! Five! Anything you want!

So far Spicer's briefing today is going better. He is much better when he is off script.

Ok, now he is being asked about his prior press conference and floundering.

This is priceless:

I just listened in to the start of the first major press conference. Someone from ABC (Carl....) asked if Spicer was going to be honest. I don't remember any other Press Sec having to answer that on Day 1. However, it quickly got to the question around 'how many people watched the Inauguration'. Spicer explained again the amount of people who watched on Apps, online, and TV around the world along with those actually in attendance. The reporter kept challenging him so Spicer asked, do you have any information that refutes what I just pointed out?

Carl: "I don't want to get into the numbers."

Lol....so he wasn't interested in the facts or the explanation...just his personal agenda to make him look bad. I have no dog in this fight but it astounds me how out of the way with false, fake or just plain ignorance in some cases some of the media is handling this. The aren't interested in the truth....just want their opinion to go forward.

He clarified his position on the numbers. He said it was the most both ONLINE and IN PERSON, meaning together. Then he goes on to say he doesn't understand how you (the reporter) would think otherwise. Then the reporter clarified, about the in-person statement, and Spicer clarified and said he did not mean in person only.

Spicer mopped up the press core today and took them to task, it was glorious.

Do you recall any other Press Secretary making multiple false statements to the press the day before the first press conference? Questions about his honesty are well justified.

Couldn't you also say that about Trump and Spicer's performances yesterday?

He did admit that the data he used on the metro was way off and denied making it up. So apparently, we are going to vacillate between scolding the press one day and then making up the next day claiming you should be given an opportunity to correct yourself. It's going to be an entertaining ride.

Sure....but the previous President and his Press Sec also mislead and/or lied frequently and were not taken to the same task as the majority of the media have since Day 1 after the election with this President. Just a lack of objectivity when the same things happen.

Clinton lied as Secy of State and her whole campaign. As the facts came out about her illegal email server that proved her recent statements we outright lies, she told a new one. The administration lied about benghazi, NSA spying, giving weapons to mexican gangs, etc.

But let's quibble over crowd size.

It's not even funny.
