Oh dude foh, you always come after the game and act like a genius. Dame was atrocious in the 1st half and after we tied the game. Bricking and Turnovers was hard to watch, let alone the Sequences where he choose to make a dumb pass instead of shooting. You clearly just watch the boxscore
I’m working during the games you asshat. I can’t read the thread til I get home.

Man, I would love to see us nab a Rashard Lewis-lite type of player. Marvin Williams, Cameron Johnson, etc. Ariza would be fine at a low price.

If we draft around pick 14, we should have a chance to nab Aaron Neshmith. He's an incredible shooter, moves a lot, uses screens well, has decent size (6-6) and also has the tools to become a good defender (6-10 wingspan). Much shorter than the names I mentioned though.

I'd think NBA would allow Ariza, but he'd have to quarantine full period 10ish days.

If the Blazers are still playing it means they did well... not sure you can incorporate Ariza back effectively on the fly to basically a new team. The Blazers might be better off setting up roles without him.
The other side to that is if the Blazers have played well enough to keep playing they will be playing even tougher opponents and could very well need his defensive abilities and veteran presence. Watching the end of the Grizzlies game and having the ability to pull Ariza off the bench in the last 2-3 minutes would have been very helpful. Melo and Mario did fine in that game but Ariza could have subbed in certain stretches and it would have paid off.
I just got confirmation. Once the Blazers replaced Ariza with Jaylen Adams then Ariza became ineligible to play no matter what happens.

The only way I could possibly see around that is if the Blazers try to claim Adams was a replacement for Swanigan instead of Ariza but I doubt the NBA would allow them to do that since Swanigan didn't officially opt out until after they signed Adams.

Ariza would no doubt be playing 30+ MPG if he had opted for the bubble. His minutes coming at the expense of Mario, Gary and Melo.

Would be glad to see Mario out of the rotation.

Maybe they would've cut Whitseide minutes and have Zach backup both PF/C from the bench. Basically what our next season roster will look like if Melo returns.

Blazers had an open roster spot when they signed Adams. He was signed to the #15 roster spot, making anything occurring with Ariza irrelevant.

So you are saying that he can quarantine and play with the team at a later date if he decides to?

Yes dude but you're going back to old posts and laughing at those people, something you may not have done during the game.

I think so, but not 100%.

The only way I'd see it prohibited is if the NBA did something to make the players signed to replace players opting out not count against the salary cap. If that were the case, then I could see the Blazers using Adams to replace Ariza so not increase the tax burden.

Sorry Tester you're wrong about this. The replacement players do NOT count against the salary cap or tax number and that is how we signed Adams. We didn't use the open roster spot or it would've counted.

My original post this morning is 100% correct and now people have hope and are confused, lol

Ariza is ineligible.

You've become more toxic than @THE HCP yet try to act like you're above it.

It's hilarious that you're calling someone out to going back to "old posts" that are a day old when you'll bring up posts from over a year ago. Dont be hypocrtical.

14 for Bjelica and 35.

No. He's out. Should have just said he would join the team later instead of opting out

I see what you're saying. I don't think Whiteside is garbage, but I think there is a real gap between him and Nurk when it comes to overall impact. Granted the +/- today doesn't show that and if that trend contined long enough, I'd have to reconsider.

I think Nurk holds the advantage in: Post offense, high post passing, screen setting, defensive positioning, preventing uncontested shots, consistency, and maybe even defensive rebounding.

Whiteside seems better at: Pure shot blocking and maybe offensive rebounding.

I'd be fine with Whiteside coming off the bench for 16-20 minutes a game and at the price level, but I don't think he will be.

Whiteside is also better at finishing near the rim. But I agree Nurk is better.
