I also have another question for all the "Our defense is soooo bad" guys.

If the Blazers defense is really so very bad, why exactly have they won 6 of 8 games?
Do the other teams have even worse defense? Because the Blazers have outscored all of them.

Our defense is bad. Im not sure why you are trying to argue that? Everyone knows come playoff time the games will tighten up and our offense starts to become not as dependent as the regular season. We aren't a bad team and we have Dame who willed us to those 6 wins, but our defense is bad and when things become harder in the playoffs for us offensively, it will be hard for us again like it has in the past outside of a successful run last year until we ran into our kryptonite, the Warriors.

Their offense is legendary. They're the top offense in the league in the bubble and if they had sustained that play over the course of a season it would be BY FAR the highest offensive efficiency a team has ever recorded in the NBA..

BTW Dallas ended the season with a 116 offensive rating, highest ever for a season in the NBA. Blazers were at 121 or 122 in the bubble I don't remember, but it's definitely even higher after tonight.

You've been watching the games, isn't it obvious how we're winning? If you can outscore your opponent you win the game. Scoring is and always will be the most important thing you can do in basketball. However, they're going to miss shots eventually, and they won't have their defense to fall back on.

I'm enjoying the hell out of this run, but we aren't a contender. We have a million issues that need to be addressed in the offseason and about 999,999 of them are on the defensive end.
Fair response but it I also watched them lock down the Celtics in the second half, The Mavs in the fourth quarter and the Nets in the last 5 mins of that game. Although they made it tougher on themselves by missing some rebounds at crucial times. They let the Nets get 3 and 4 attempts on a couple occasions. If they drill a couple wide open looks in the fourth quarter that game isn't even in question.

Good defensive teams have more than a handful of defensive possessions per game.

We are the top offense in the bubble and bottom 3 in defense. Pretty much dead last next to Sacramento.

You guys cannot sit here and complain about the defense being bad when the other team gives up more points.

This game is and has always been about SCORING BUCKETS. The Blazers are outscoring their opponents and Playing better defense by not allowing the other team to score more points.

This is basketball. Not rocket science. All the stats in the world mean nothing when you stop and say "Scoreboard!"

Idiot stotts. How does he not see nurkic is getting smashed on offense by allen , too athletic for him they need whiteside . Moron

Huh? Excuse me? The offense is separate from the defense. This logic just does not make any sense to me.

So you're saying we are on our way to win the NBA finals this year? Just because we have been winning our games with great offensive performances (namely one Lillard), our defense is very poor and is not something we will be able to rely on in the playoffs (assuming we get past Memphis).

I agree but it will be hard to fix the D without hurting the O. Having four 3 pt shooters on the floor is ideal Stotts and Dame.
Ariza helps at SF and Hood helps at SG. Need a consistent stretch 4 who can play really good D. Not easy to find

No offense is not separated from defense. The game is played on the court. You play both offense and defense on the same court.
When you hit shots and rebound well your defense can respond better. The same thing happens for your offense. When you get stops and your offense can attack while they are still getting set you get better looks.

You guys think way way too much into a game that is pretty much being played the exact same way by every team in the league. Every team is spreading the floor and trying to shoot threes. wrinkle here and wrinkle there. That's it.

How about they win the next game? Let just leave it at that.

This is very true. The differences the wrinkles make are so much smaller than the differences talent makes.

Lol dude. The defense can be fucking terrible. We just have the greatest player on the court each game that bails us the fuck out. They are not mutually exclusive.

Jimmy Butler would look good at the 2 or 3, wouldn't he? Haha.

In terms of a stretch 4: can we bring classic 'Sheed back? Or maybe Horry? :)

HUGE props to CJ. Came up big in Denver. Came up big tonight. While injured. Game clinching shot and game clinching defense. Also- props to Melo for grabbing the last rebound.
HUGE props??? Really? I mean the guy showed up and played like himself in the first half meaning he was a good scorer and an absolute nightmare on defense. Then in the second half he continued on the same path on the defensive end but stopped playing offense. He made one shot that was not clutch at the end of the game because it was wide open, those were Dames points because he drew the entire defense. Then he got lucky that LeVert decided to take the worst long distance fade away two instead of driving right past him. That was not a good game by CJ, just one half of CJ ball, followed by a bad half. I really wish you would stop giving this guy a pass on his horrendous defense, it's team killing. I'll give him a break on not showing up for the second half on O because I'm sure his back was killing him but the guy needs to either step it way up for the play-in and playoffs or he needs to be sat down.

We have a really potent team offensively. Dame is seriously an all-time great scorer and a fantastic passer/facilitator, I know he's past his prime but Melo is also an all-time great scorer, CJ is a really good scorer, Nurk is a very solid low post scorer and an excellent facilitator from the top of the key, Trent is a really solid scorer, great spot up shooter and until the last three games was on a historic hot streak from three, Zach gets offensive rebounds not two many second chance points but those are extra possessions, Hassan gets second chance points and other offensive rebounds and is a strong finisher above the rim, Rio has his moments where he facilitates well and scores well every once in a while, Ant hasn't shown much lately but I think he can score and we have Dame who is seriously an all-time great scorer.

Our defense is poor, it starts with CJ being absolutely horrible, Melo is a subpar defender especially on the perimeter at this point in his career and was only ever just average, Zach is good sometimes but gets lost a lot and fouls a ton, I think Nurk is a good defensive center but not great, Gary is a really good perimeter defender but fouls a lot, Hassan is really an outstanding low block defender/rim protector but the way the game has gone his lack of mobility can really hurt us, Rio is trash on defense just a notch better than CJ, Ant is scary bad but again a little better than CJ, Dame has gotten himself to the point where he is a plus defender but by no stretch of the imagination is he a great defender, two of our better defenders never get off the bench which points out the biggest reason our defense is so poor, Stotts doesn't give a shit about defense... at least not defensive accountability during game play. The reason why Nas got no time and Wenyen got very little is because they are both nothing more than screen setters and wide open layup/dunk getters offensively, so Stotts "mr. offense" won't give them any run even though they would both be plus defenders that we really need.

42 points on 22 shots, 12 assists, 2 steals and only 1 turnover with all of that usage and all of those blitzing, trapping double teams. Wow we have one of the best guys to ever do it. Dame Lillard is the best player/guy the Blazers and we as Blazers fans have ever had on the team.

I have a question for @THE HCP

I have noticed that during the game the floor says Moda and it has Blazers on it. It also has a Toyota advertisement.
But on replays the court is clear? My thinking is they must be doing the logos for home teams with some kind of computer enhancement?
Does this work both ways for both teams?
There really is no Home court at all as it seems.
Yessir, you are correct. Home team gets their logos and sponsors. You’ve seen the same thing during the MLS tourney. Good eye.

Technically speaking yes.
Microsoft uses similar technology for AR (Hololens / Magic leap) it’s images superimposed onto the broadcast. The reason it’s not on replays is because its added at real time when it gets broadcasted, it’s not on the actual footage being recorded.
It is applied over what we call “GAME CAM” or camera 1. You see the same thing in football where the first down and line of scrimmage.
