I think a guitar is different - if you see a great guitarist with a particular guitar you figure it's a good one, right? But Pepsi is sugar water whoever promotes it. And there are really not big differences between sneaker brands.
Seeing this new Dame commercial has made me (re)wonder the effect that celebrities and athletes have on a society. It's probably been since Jordan that it really took off... but the psychology nerd in me really wants to know why and how it works and if it works at all.
Obviously that won't get answered here. But for a very small sample size... do athletes sell the goods? Do celebrities? I know it has a great effect on kids, but for the adults, that's what I'm interested in.

WHAAAATTTTT!!!???
She probably wears Sketchers!
boots with the fur.
For the record, I wear New Balance. Because they fit well and cost less than Nike. Comfort and cost. I don't care who else wears them. Hell, I wasn't fashionable when I was a teenager, or a young woman, and at my advanced age I'm damn well going to be comfortable.
3 things I forgot. Breakfast cereal, razors, deodorant. I know those commercials when I was young had an influence on those choices
Also have a pair of Filo.
(with the fur...)
sounds delicious
Phyllo is the pastry, Fila the shoe, we were both wrong.
Probably. Or maybe boots with the fur.
