Bayh is one of the most moderate members of the Senate, Democrat or Republican. His seat is likely to be taken by a Republican.

If the Democrats lose the middle, they're going to lose the country.

Probably wouldn't be that bad if you could differentiate yourself based on your votes, your stands, etc. With everyone seemingly in lock-step with their party (rather than their constituency) it sucks to be an incumbent, but at least the GOP are saying that they're fighting what the majority-holders are doing, though they're doing it in lock-step.

I have no idea who Ms. Wingnut is. But it sounds as if she could be challenging Patty Murray's spot as "100th Smartest Senator"
