Actually, you are the one putting words in Rudy's mouth. He said that Rubio "Might not be ready" (which is different from "far from").

Additionally - one wonders where Rudy is on record claiming that "Sergio is a much better PG who is ready to lead our team to a title now".

As for "you're the expert" - I would like to thank you for your assessment - I wish it was true - but I do not share your opinion - I am just a fan with some experience at lower levels from way back when who gets to share his opinion on the forum - just like you do.

Let's get real here. Rodriquez has been a Blazer for three years, and has had every chance to earn a spot as a starter--but he hasn't. That says more about Rodriquez than it does about McMillan's system. I don't see Rodriquez ever being more than a journeyman player in the NBA, and it's certainly no great loss if he leaves.

If we could get the #8 pick for Rodriquez and some spare parts, this is a great deal.

I think it's pure speculation on the No. 8 pick, but seems like the most likely asset that we'd want that NY has. And the fact that the article said the deal couldn't be announced til the draft, which is likely because it involved picks.

I understand the reasoning but whos to say it's not our pick(s) that's involved? We've no idea who or what KP really values.

That being said I'm glad we have KP and I'm super excited for this years draft. We all know Sergio is (likely) gonna be involved in a trade, we have Blake AND OUTLAW who's contracts can be taken off the books (June 30th) AFTER the draft (June 25th) which means if they are traded before or during the draft any team who own's their rights can basically take them off their books (more valuable than an expiring contract). Add in five draft picks and you KNOW there HAS TO be fireworks coming. . . but not likely how we may envision them.

No one knows really. We're just throwing out our ideas. And considering the assets NY has, there's two that seem to make the most sense: David Lee and the No. 8 pick.
In any case, I agree that this draft will again be exciting for Blazer fans. It could go so many directions, we've got a ton of flexibility and options. Something big has to happen.

Besides, while everything will probably be agreed upon draft night, if we're getting back a PG there's a good chance it will be a free agent, and so we'll have to wait until July. Imagine agreeing to a deal with the Bucks for a S&T with Sessions, only to have to wait all week with speculation before finding out if it's official. Remember how crazy this forum went over the wording (accomplished, was it?) regarding James Jones? It's gonna that, only a thousand times worse.

I agree about the assests that make sense. To my understanding though David can't be traded during the draft due to his contract.

Yup. It's pretty exciting 'round here when something big seems to be brewing or has happened and details are slowly coming out.

If we don't have to take on a bad contract or if this is part of a bigger deal then this is good news for the Blazers. I am not crazy about this draft. I think that we will be trading with Milwaukie or Phoenix this summer, for either Sessions or Nash.
