I wonder how Blake compares to other players in the league with FT's/minutes.

That's what we're doing, or haven't you noticed?

Yes, they're building around Sergio...much as civilizations have often built their roads around obstacles. You have to avoid them to keep moving forward.

Nothing else needs to be said. That pretty much says it all.

So far, Blake has him beat on 3 point FG% (but he has Sergio beat too), and overall FG%, and experience.

But here's an interesting fact. Blake has been to the FT 49 times this year in 1700 minutes. Bayless has been to the FT 41 times in 194 minutes.

I have to spread it around before I can rep ya again man, sorry : (

Sergio didn't play bad.... Bayless just played better in the time given.

I don't think it means that Blake is pathetic... more like it means that Bayless is a Tasmanian devil.

That's what I took away from it.

Blake is going to be a very valuable piece in a year or two as a solid, dependable backup point who can hit the big open shot, take care of the ball and calm guys down.

I don't think it's going to take that long. Bayless just adds two dimensions that Blake doesn't have.... defense and the ability to score at the hoop... and we know he can shoot. I'm thinking sometime after all star break he'll be ready. His skills are just too important to keep off the floor.

I should have clarified. I think he'll be pushing Steve-o hard by the end of the year for minutes and by sometime next year will probably supplant him as the full-time starter, but it's going to take a good year or two for him to really settle down and play consistently on a night-in night-out basis -- I still expect a good deal of variance in his performances for awhile.

Sergio will start again, knowing Nate.
he should. Roles shouldn't be like a choke chain depending on per game performances . It's about the team and they won.

Steady hand at the wheel + ride the hot hand

The Blazers went to the end with an under .500 Net squad.

Good win, but tough to decipher what it means for the future.

I'm more worried about Greg Oden than I am Sergio at this point. Is he hurt again?:dunno:

Hey with as many injuries as we have any road win is a quality win. And Greg wasn't hurt he was just getting pick n' rolled to death by Lopez and Harris and just didn't look like he knew what to do. Nate put in a small ball lineup that utterly befuddled the Nets and Frank and we got the 'W'.

Good times.

I wasn't actually able to watch the game due to the ComC...well...let's not go "there". Players in Tualatin can't even get the games. Comcast wanted to charge them $100k to install cable instead of DirecTV. :dunno:

OK, so I went "there"...

Yer joking. Unbelievable.

Talked to the manager there tonight about it. Something about putting cables underneath the railroad track.

I can't blame them for holding out on that extortion, as they would never bring in enough customers to pay for it.

Tells me Comcast is in trouble, though.

I've been saying since last year that Blake is a perfect backup. The guy is solid, he doesn't make many mistakes, and he can hit big shots. The only thing lacking is defense, but that's fine. He is ideal to play behind Bayless I think.
