I’m not saying I follow anything in the Bible. I’m saying that when we studied it, it was the one thing that I believed in and agreed with. The rest of it I don’t care. Went to Catholic schools and spent more time talking about the Bible than I care for. But once in a while something would be discussed that resonated. And eye for an eye was one. But yeah pigskins.

Maybe what is resonating is no more right than many of the other so called atrocities the bible claims to be so?

im sorry but using the eye for an eye “resonated” from a book that is considered near fantasy by those of your social/political stance is about as hypocritical as it gets.
And a direct example of my claims for a while now…

when it fits the narrative, Its okay to claim/use it(whatever stance or position).

and lets takecit a step further. Do you not rail on @ABM for his stance on abortion? How do you know the old testament regarding abortion didnt resonate with him? How is he not allowed his rights to feel that about abortion, but your allowed something to resonate with yo and its okay and justified????

The reason democrats are where they are is they fight fair. Meanwhile republicans have zero regard for anything or anyone and look where we are. I remember being in college and we studied the Old Testament. I’m not a religious person - it was required for us at my school. But the one thing I did take away from the Old Testament was an eye for an eye. It’s about time democrats and liberals manned up and started playing the game. Trump set the tone. And here we are. It’s unfortunate but we either sit by and watch Republicans - no scratch that, that party is extinct now - Maga completely fuck everything about the country forever or step in and try to stop it. It’s a long shot but time to play the game their way. Block everything. No negotiations. Enforce everything. Put people away. Fuck them up so badly they’ll be done forever.

The Dems have learned a little anyway and are trying to get as much through as they can while they can. They have reached a block in the Senate with two Dem senators who are really Republicans.

The Republicans will sooner or later take back control and cram everything they can through.

And the thing is both sides waiting and cramming things through, and constantly reversing what the other side has done really gets nothing done. One, because everything just keeps getting reversed and two because neither side is taking the time to put together quality and constructive bills that truly can effect things and actually help.

Breyer is waiting to retire from the supreme court when the Republicans get back control. The SC should be balanced so it represents everyone. Just as should the Senate and Congress, but it's not.

The system is set up for a never ending game of keep away. There is no working together. There is no fairness.

ABM has every right to his opinions and stances. He is allowed. No one has disallowed him. When he make threads and posts that are controversial in a forum he opens himself to dissent. Just as all of us do.

My views are controversial to some and I have taken many railings over the years. It's part of being in a forum.

Agreed. I think we are finding more and more in this moment of time how important discussion and middle ground really is.

People are so stuck on one way or the other or afraid of what consensus means. Sacrificing things we may not want to. We all don't have to agree on everything; that will never happen. It's about reaching understanding. It's about getting as close as possible to agreeing, coming together on what we can, finding common ground.

But, people are scared of that, if common ground. They see the worst in each other and don't want to believe there can be common ground, that they can share any attributes with the other side.

You and I are on somewhat opposite parts of a spectrum. We are both closer to the middle than we are to the ends. But, he we have different ideas of how things should be. And that's ok. We have understanding though because we share a common decency. We care. We feel. We are affected much the same way when we see things like this car incident today.

While I do not believe that life is fair - because it isn’t- I have a deep sense of justice and fairness whenever possible. I believe you get what you deserve, you reap what you sow, and justice should always be served. It’s probably why I’m so pissed about what’s going on. I’m so sick of people just ignoring the law or subpoenas or whatever it may be, and not being held accountable. Nothing seems to matter anymore. Everyone just does what they want with no repercussions.

I have no problem or contention with what you wrote. Everyone is different. Everyone has limits. I have limits that when they have been crossed or if they are crossed, especially when it comes to protecting my family, that I would or have resulted to violence. Is that right? Don't know. Do I expect everyone to react the same? No. There are certain things that I can't walk away from. Many would consider that being weak. I'm fine with that.

speaking of preventable war. Of course there are moments that require violence. But mostly for self defense or to stop an atrocity taking place at that moment.

Interesting point. I would favor the pinnacle as a reference point. We created Air force weapons such as the billion dollar B29 bomber program, atomic bomb, fought the war on multiple fronts, supported other nations, advanced our science and was able to convert factories to war producing assets. We also took Europeon gold and valuable assets. After August 1945, when the cold war started, the dark government established itself.

A prime example is Kyle Rittenhouse and subsequently, the jurors who vindicated him.
