Shaedon Sharpe MRI Update

The same was said of Darko. Live, full-speed game action is the only thing that matters. Lots of guys look good in rehearsed practice settings.

Who said that about Darko?

Wait?
Did we somehow get Banchero, Holmgren, or Smith?
Not sure we have a guy named Murray on the Blazers do we?

The Blazers drafted a guy that MIGHT be very good someday, but at this point is months behind where they were hoping he would be. He just got released to start playing again.

What is hard to understand is how some on here are expecting this kid to be anything more than 9th or 10th off the bench?
I just kind of figured that everyone in here that's posting about this has done their own due diligence; so they'd know what I was talking about.

Before he reclassified Shaedon was the number one ranked prospect in the 2023 draft class, after he reclassified the people at ESPN had him third, so that would be in front of one of those three that you mentioned... I know that Holmgren was first at that time. He sunk from third as others played and he didn't after reclassifying.

I would add to your last sentence that he MIGHT be very good right now. We just don't know. We know he has the physical talent and we know about a lot of his skills but we have to see if his motor and BBIQ match or come close to matching those things we know he is doing at a high level. If his effort and head for the game are as advanced as his talents and skills then he will beat out guys on this roster for serious playing time. We just don't know where those things are at until we see him playing in live game action but we do know he is a freak athlete, we do know that his shot falls from just about anywhere in the half court and we know he has a pretty slick handle for a wing.

Sharpe is the number one prospect in his class and a five star recruit. He has not played organize 5v5 basketball in a while but I assume he has played behind closed doors prior to the shoulder injury. He still remembers how to play basketball. Give him time to get used to the team and I won't be surprised if he's in the rotation, contributing, and getting more than garbage time post All Star break his rookie year.
If he “in the rotation” we are heading back to the lottery.

Given the nature of the situation I’d say that the timing and structure are solid.

If you saw that at an exhibit you wouldn’t necessarily be like “what is this doing here”.

Him and Andalusian are both top notch photographers. Whether you consider them Amateur photographers or not. Professional just means you get paid for it. I respect Andalusians opinion because of their own eye for photography too.
I am in no way a pro. And shit, I’m just using my iPhone. I’d love to have more people post over in our photo thread.

I don't understand why so many on here expect a player who was the number one guy in his strong draft class to only get minutes if we suck. This dude should be a future allstar and therefore be ready to contribute at a pretty high level this season.

Have people seen this guy move? Have they seen him shoot? Have they seen him put the ball on the floor? Why in the world, on a roster that isn't even going to get HCA, would this potential superstar not get minutes even when we have a spot in the playoffs?
Did you just type “potential superstar”!!!??? “Future allstar”!!!!???

What the hell? No wonder so many of you are always ready to jump off the ledge. This place never ceases to amaze. Good lord.

You just have to look at his workouts. The guy moves very smoothly and explosively at the same time. His shot is silky smooth. He also dribbles extremely well for a wing.
Bro I could edit for you 100 videos of players who looked like they were the next “sure thing” and either didn’t get drafter or were out of the league in 24 months.
Amazing.

These are the same people who think we will finish with home court advantage this season in the playoffs. Sigh….

You don't think that this kid, who was the number one recruit in his class until he reclassified, who jumps out of the gym, who has a really solid jumper and has a nice handle... doesn't have superstar potential? Jay Bilas who made a point of attending a lot of UK practices this year just to watch Shaedon thinks he has the most upside out of the guys drafted in 2022. So yeah, I think a guy that many experts saw as the steal of the draft is a future allstar with superstar potential. He also has a bunch of unknown factors, so he has some bust potential.

I don't know why high hopes for this guy elicit "What the hell?" and "Good lord." He's a highly touted prospect and we really have no idea how developed he is. He could be ready to contribute right away and he could take a while but I think he'll be an allstar. I guess we'll wait and see. I don't think there's anything outrageous about my take on Shaedon.

I think there are a lot of unknowns with us and even around the league right now. I have us as the 6th or 7th seed in the West. We could be in the play ins or we could also be a little higher than my prediction.

Pretty much everyone. People were mesmerized by his fluidity and skills in pre-draft workouts. None of it translated to game action.

So it wouldn't be difficult to find multiple reports saying that?

In 2019 T. Herro played 27 minutes per game as a rook, who spend 1 year at Kentucky. Drafted 17th and averaged 13ppg.
John Calipari said he thought Shaedon would be a number 1 pick if he's played 1 year. The reporter spouted off "how would you know that" Calipari replied " I know Ive had 7 first picks".
So when I hear that, to think he couldn't average 13-15 mpg wouldn't be that alarming.

Do you just come to the basketball side of the site strictly to talk down to and otherwise mock and insult fans that feel differently than you do?
You think I was "mocking and insulting" people by saying I didn't agree with them?

No, I think you don't agree with someone or a position, and you spend many post afterwards passive aggressively responding in a mocking or condescending manner.
I think you are in a different website sir.

Or you must think we are winning 50 games next season?

If you cared to search, probably not. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Sorry, doesn't work that way. YOU brought it up, you fucking do the search for it and prove yourself right.

……

Draft scouts like Chad Ford were very high on him. “Darko was just phenomenal. It couldn’t have been more perfect in a certain way. At some point the coaches got involved and asked to see particular things. And Darko couldn’t miss and was aggressive and rose to the moment with the players watching. I was sitting next to (Dumars). He’s not expressive, he plays everything close to the vest. But Darko was just so impressive. It was literally the best workout I’ve ever seen.

It absolutely does not. The burden of proof lies in the individual making the claim. One could choose to roove them wrong, but burden of proof doesn't work that way.
We shall have to disagree.

If someone says something and i say they are wrong, i believe its on me to show why they are wrong.
I take ownership of telling someone they are wrong anyhow. Or try to.

And i think i just showed in the next post how silly it even was to ask for proof. Its just lazy to me.

Do a bit of research and if you don't find it, THEN ask for proof.

It does work that way. He said something and you are questioning the accuracy. Prove its inaccurate.
Its that simple.

No it doesn't. I dont' get to say something and then be like "no, you look it up!".

If I say something, the onus is on me to prove it, not the other way around.

But you just did! HahHa

you said he was wrong and then told him to look it up.
Anyhow i did all that hard work for you. Bill is in the mail. :)
