Shams: Olshey being investigated for workplace misconduct

thats my point is we are one of the worst cities in the nba for getting free agents yet he still made us competitive
He already had Aldridge, Wes and Batum when he inherited the team. He traded for Lopez which was fine. He may or may not have been very involved in taking Dame. That was the catalyst for all of his success. Taking Dame. And CJ. He bungled the Aldridge situation. He traded Batum for garbage. He traded for Afflalo which ended up being a shit trade ( I was a fan of it when it happened). He signed Turner to a shit deal. He traded up to grab Zach Collins. He resigned Meyers and Crabbe to shit deals. He has refused to trade CJ and split up our undersized back court.

He operates around the margins and whiffs when it really matters. You can't do that on a small market team. Gotta take risks or stockpile assets. Nobody that will change this team will sign as a free agent. Mediocrity should not be applauded in the NBA.

How long will this investigation take?
Seems to me it shouldn't take long at all to determine if there are grounds to make a change.
I wouldn't think JA wants this to linger.

I think it's probably already close to over since it's been leaked.

So you think he's done then?
yeah...they just need to have proof of misconduct to save a few million from buying him out. Probably already have it. It will be handled in house. My guess is he quits and forfeits the pay to save his own face if that's possible or they offer him a lowball buyout to not expose their reason and they just part way with a handshake deal.

You are right about the New York person as I used to work with distributors from NY. I worked with all regions around the US & Canada and the NY/NE region was very different in terms of diplomacy and they did not handle business scrutiny at all.
When I would worked a National Equipment Show in Chicago you could hear the New York delegation heading your way, and it wouldn't matter if you were in the middle of a meeting, they would jump right in with what was on their minds. I actually thught its was refreshing as compared to some of the Ivy league back stabbing executives I dealt with that looked right through you. I view Neil more that way.

Who knows maybe he ends up working for another Vulcan enterprise?

Hopefully he doesn't excecute a fuck you trade on the way out

How would he be able to do that? The team isn't owned and run solely by Neil. Jodi would have to approve, and if she's canning him, it's unlikely she'd be like "oh hey, did he just trade Damian for a slew of 2nd round picks from OKC? sounds good to me! Herp de derp!"

Im not a huge fan of the guy but the team that made it to the west finals was his entire creation. I was making the point that fans seem to think he has done nothing at all but make mistakes, we had not won a playoff series in like 10 years before that Houston one

I would take the hopes and dreams of Roy, Aldridge, Rudy, Batum, Oden over what Neil has "created." We had no chance against the Warriors, who swept us, without Kevin Durant. Yay we made the WCF. But we never have come close to being a contender. Everyone knew the Warriors were gonna win the West. The last time we really felt like possibly a contender was the year Wes got hurt.

Our team is a 2nd round team at absolute best this year. We are a treadmill team. Time for a change.

that season, Portland won 54 games. They haven't matched that in 8 years

Dame carried us to that.

well the last time we were in the western finals was 2000 and before that the drexler teams, its safe to say its an extreme rarity for this franchise to give him no credit at all is not fair. I personally dont think Dame is good enough to lead a team to a championship and the only way we could get better is getting really lucky in the draft. the way we got roy oden and aldridge was through sucking many years and drafting them. neil was able to build the team to western conference finals without tanking. I have to say again im not a big fan of neil but blazer fans just want a scapegoat. I personally want a new gm and to blowup the roster and go through the draft until we have another chance like with roy oden and aldridge. I just think neil deserves some credit for building a competitive team without tanking.

We had one year out of 9 where we went to the WCF and everyone knew we didn't have a chance against a Kevin Durantless Warriors. Whoopty Doo.

Again. Dude plays around the margins and whiffs when be has had opportunities to improve the team more than by the margins. He can go be a good enough gm for a big market team. He is not good enough to be a small market gm.

It is possible that this has been building for some time out of public view. It is also possible that his behavior has taken a turn for the worse with the whispers about Dame getting fed up and the loss of his ablative armor (Stotts).
Possible. The skeptic in me also had the thought that the team was looking for a viable reason to oust him without having to pay him the rest of his contract. Or it allows them to get rid of him without upsetting Dame if he's tight with Neil.

The point being people in power can get away with shit. I have no inside knowledge. But the fact that it was not publicly raised before doesn't mean it's false (or true, of course).
perhaps let's see what they find. Wild that no leaks are out yet
