Shaq is old.
Shaq is injury prone.
Shaq is declining.
Shaq is expensive.
Shaq is not a good fit for the Suns' offense.
Marion is much younger.
Marion is durable.
Marion is at his prime.
Marion is making a decent salary.
Marion is a good fit for the Suns' offense.</div>
Marion makes about 17 mil.
You forgot the issue why they are probably making this trade: chemistry.
</div>
Chemistry don't play defense, holmes.
They weren't a great defensive team last year, and that was BEFORE they traded Kurt Thomas and Marion away.
So now that they've got Shaq, Amare and Nash all playing 40 mpg, who'll play defense? And on top of that, how are Shaq and Nash going to co-exist in an offense? Will Shaq speed up (and destroy his knees) or will Nash slow down (and destroy the offense)? How does any of this make sense?
