I'm thinking we got a 2d from Boston for taking Pavlovic in the deal.

I've heard of Pavlovic.... but I don't know anything about him.

I imagine it's much more about the 2nd and screwing Minn. If he's paid the minimum, you pay a bit over a million for a 2nd, not bad.

Yeah, I imagine screwing minny was definitely the biggest reason for doing it.

He started with Utah, not sure how they lost him after a year but he ended up in Cleveland and had some good years. Started 20 games one year in the playoffs. Then 45 games the next year in the reg season.

Then he went to Minny and kind of disappeared after that ...........

At one time he was a solid player. Both on offense and defense. But that was a few years ago. I doubt he is the same player. He is still under 30 though.

Looking at his stats, his shooting %s are all over the map, ranging from over 40% to under 30.

And the article mentions Sean Williams. I thought we bought him out? Did we trade him?

No, that was Shawne Williams born in February, this one from Boston is Sean Williams born in September.

Hearing C Lee deal is more like 4.6M to start. Celtics paying Pavlovic's salary for Blazers and threw Portland a 2nd.

And who says you can't get something for nothing? Pavlovic sucks, but for free, who cares? and a 2nd round pick for our trouble isn't much either, but again, for free, who cares?

+1. If they're paying his salary, cut him now, and do it again with another team, for another 2nd rounder, or euro.

they are paying his salary, but we are using our cap space

they are paying his salary, but we are using our cap space
with the TPE from felton deal, we technically don't have any cap space currently, minimum salary guys can be added for free, and we aren't anywhere near the luxury tax, so it''s not a big concern.

The cap space for this year is almost negligible anyway, so I don't see this as that big of a deal to take on Pavlovic's contract that expires this year.

Blazers by rule had to send out something in deal. Diebler ('11 2nd rounder who played in Europe, no contract $) makes sense.

Confirmation per Blazersedge

Update: Rockets.com has confirmed the trade's details, which include the Blazers sending guard Jon Diebler, a second-round pick in 2011 who played overseas last season, to the Rockets. Diebler has been playing on Portland's Summer League team here in Las Vegas.
---------------------------
Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey announced today that the team has agreed to a sign-and-trade with guard/forward Courtney Lee, which will send him to the Boston Celtics as part of a three-team trade. The Rockets will receive from Boston a Charlotte Bobcats second-round draft pick in the 2013 NBA Draft, forward JaJuan Johnson, guard E’Twaun Moore and forward/center Sean Williams. The pick was previously acquired by Boston via Oklahoma City. Houston also acquires the rights to guard Jon Diebler from Portland. Boston completes the deal by agreeing to a sign-and-trade with guard/forward Sasha Pavlovic, which sends him to the Trail Blazers.

At least some of the rubechat fellows have a sense of humor...

Olshey gave Kahn "The Minivan", two in the front and five in the back.
