I agree. I can stay away from that thread but keep current with this one. The one that matters to me. The issue that has left me crying for days.
Thank you. It is where I went to school and where I grew up. I lost a couple of friends. It has been rough.I am sorry to learn that this has had such an effect on you, has touched you in a personal way. You have my heart felt best wishes and will be in my prayers as are all who have dealt with this tragedy.
The problem is he's not outraged. He doesn't give a shit what happened to a bunch of Oregonians. He has avoided our state like we've got the plague. He's been aching for this to happen so he can once again advance his disarm-the-citizenry agenda. He couldn't even hide his smirking satisfaction when making his already-written-and -aiting speech before he even knew the killer, the victims, the stated reason for murder, or the weapons used.
As always, he failed to address his total failure to provide a national mental healthcare plan to prevent these sick citizens from becoming murderers on his watch.
He took an oath to defend American Citizens right to be armed for self-defense. He took an oath to defend The Constitution, not dismantle it.
If you think he cares about the victims and their families as anything but pawns for his agenda, you're absolutely delusional.
He is not the president of the United States. Also, this is in response to Obama's politicizing the tragedy. Basically, he said "Fuck off you piece of shit, this isn't about guns" He's rightI saw him take his opportunity to grandstand. He is doing the same thing he blames Obama for.
coming from someone who has politicized every discussion about guns with Obama blame, this doesn't surprise me. When guns are used to kill innocent people, then the logical reaction is to discuss guns...but that would mean you must get very defensive and post 10 guns are good videos right? He is not the president of the United States. wrong but predictable....this was a horrible tragedy and weapons were misused. I commend the president for his speech and believe his concerns are valid.30 minutes after the tragedy happens, Obama spends 80% of his speech on gun control. Obama still hasn't spoke up about the Christians being singled out, nor the hero that put himself before the "CRAZY MADMAN" that actually pulled the trigger.

Ms. Harper, who divorced her husband a decade ago, appears to have been by far the most significant figure in her son’s troubled life; neighbors say he rarely left their apartment. Unlike his father, who said on television that he had no idea Mr. Harper-Mercer cared so deeply about guns, his mother was well aware of his fascination. In fact, she shared it: In a series of online postings over a decade, Ms. Harper, a nurse, said she kept numerous firearms in her home and expressed pride in her knowledge about them, as well as in her son’s expertise on the subject.
She also opened up about her difficulties raising a son who used to bang his head against the wall, and said that both she and her son struggled with Asperger’s syndrome, an autism spectrum disorder. She tried to counsel others whose children faced similar problems. All the while, she expressed hope that her son could lead a successful life in finance or as a filmmaker.
There is the tragedy. If only the politicians spent as much funds and energy on mental health issues we might find ways to stop tragedies like this.http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/06/u...-firearms.html?smid=tw-nytimes&smtyp=cur&_r=0
We have confirmed aspergers.

Yep... It's really sad because mental illness has been the #1 common denominator of all these tragic events and it's usually ignored. Its horrible because as far as these mass shootings are concerned, this is probably the single most common profile of the shooter. I knew a kid with aspergers who worked at Petco a while back, for some reason he got offended then called the store stating he would shoot everyone. The police came and questioned him, he was fired but then nothing else happened, overprotective mothers overprotecting in a society where this kind of behavior is just "lashing out".
And it is almost completely ignored due to people not wanting a stigma to aspergers and autism. Well, it is what it is.

This was a hate crime. Sadly, our President doesn't care because it's hate against people he doesn't care about
All of you people pushing for "Mental Health" to be looked at need look no further than Fucking Reagan.
Now, WTF do you all plan on doing about Mental health? I've still heard NO proposals. Just "look at Mental Health".
What would be actionable by police?
If you're not a socialist, you must be mentally ill. So off to the gulags with the lot of them.
That's how socialism worked in the USSR.
Aspies be aspirating.
You guys are so full of shit...
Recognize that there may be some of these tendencies with autistic kids. All of you people pushing for "Mental Health" to be looked at need look no further than Fucking Reagan.
