6th man on which team? The All-Stars?

A guy who thinks Joe Johnson is better than Allen Iverson, Ray Allen and Vince Carter should be ignored.

that's fine. Espn rankeD him 4. People either hate him and think 22 6 and 5 is a washed up nobody. Or they actually watch him and respect him as thr elite guard that he is.

carter avged 20+pts , 5+ boards, 5+ assits with 45% FG... how does that account for #14? only 3 ppl pulled that off last season. some of these writers make no sense.

lol, Iverson is old and washed up, Allen is good for some games, but I believe JJ is better than both of them

Carter and JJ is a closer competition and it really would depend on what you want

This is way more realistic than the guy from Dime that said Vince was a top 15 player.

The weird thing is Tmac is #3, Ginobili #4. I think Carter plays just as well as those two guys.

Go ahead and ignore me then

All 3 teams would be better with JJ than said player and the Hawks would be worse with any of those 3 instead of JJ.

yeah...vince carter will be the 1st guy off the bench once jarvis hayes or bobby simmons gets tired...LOL...mo ager is closely challenging him for that spot though... :)

I never said the Hawks would be better off with any of those 3 than Johnson. IMO, Johnson isn't as talented as any of the three but is the best fit for the Hawks.

Iverson is not old and washed up, if you watch him play he's still an unbelievable player. He still does things nobody else in the league can do.

I watch almost every Nuggets game and I can't wait until AI is off the Nuggets. Yes he is unbelievable, unbelievably frustrating.

Josh Boone isn't as talented as Stro Swift but Boone is far, far better basketball player.

I don't have a problem with the top 7. From there it is a lot more subjective than it already is.

This is also on the same page:

2008-09 SG Rankings

1. Kobe Bryant, L.A. Lakers
2. Dwyane Wade, Miami
3. Allen Iverson, Denver
4. Andre Igoudala, Philadelphia
5. Brandon Roy, Portland
6. Joe Johnson, Atlanta
7. Vince Carter, New Jersey
8. Manu Ginobili, San Antonio
9. Danny Granger, Indiana
10. Josh Howard, Dallas
11. Tracy McGrady, Houston
12. Paul Pierce, Boston
13. Kevin Martin, Sacramento
14. Rudy Gay, Memphis
15. Jason Richardson, Charlotte

wow, if this is the mindset of all the experts, then Lawrence Frank better get a heck of a lot of Coach of the Year votes when the Nets win 40 games.

The weird thing is Tmac is #3

its funny. vince had scarily similar numbers to tmac. yet he is 10 ranks behind him.

Vince is a more efficient shooter.

I never understood the fascination with T-Mac. The guy is talented, but he's more injury prone than Vince and has worse success in the post season.

I see Vince as #7 or 8 and McGrady right below him.

No they don't tell the whole story, but just curious:
Who do you choose? Tmac or VC?

Not sure, really. I haven't watched T-Mac too much, but I do hear he can be slightly frustrating as a player, too. The whole never getting out of the first round also speaks volumes.

That's understandable. Here's my 2 cents: Do I think Tmac is a better player? Yes. But definitely not by a lot. The key advantages Tmac really has is his height (6'8") and he is arguably better at defense than Carter. I don't let the numbers fool me when it comes to his shooting. He isnt a bad shooter but more or less streaky(moreso i noticed with his stint with the Rockets). He has Vince's skill set but has a taller body so it's even more difficult to guard him.
And some can argue that he is more clutch after seeing that performance he pulled against the Spurs, but similar arguments can be made for Vince.
However, i think one thing carter is better than Tmac is his playmaking. yes he is a scorer but he is more willing to dish out the ball than Tmac is.

agreed.

I think T-Mac is slightly better than Vince at this point, but when it comes to lead a team(specially young team like Nets) I choose Vince over T-Mac any day. Remember Olando?

what palm the ball? lol ^^ :p

Look, I'm not an Allen Iverson fan. Never have been, never will be. But there's no denying that the guy is an impressive specimen, even at his age. Joe Johnson is a great player. I don't think he's reached his prime yet, but when he does he'll easily be a top 5 SG in the league. Right now, I don't think he is.

I agree with Denny's list much more than the original one.

I don't know who I'd consider better Vince or Tmac. But I think Vince at this point in time is better than J-Rich, Kevin Martin, Stephen Jackson, Ray Allen, Allen Iverson, Michael Redd, and Rip Hamilton, and probably Ginobili.

Brandon Roy I really need to see more of to tell.
