Should have traded Aldridge for harden

On a related note, can someone get an animated gif of LaMarcus's smiling nod after he hit that crazy double clutch?

Of all the LMA trades I've read over the years Harden was always my favorite.

This isn't a freak out. Have you seen how Harden is playing? I think Hickson is just fine as the starting power forward and adding someone like Harden would have given this team a legit #1 scoring option. Aldridge is not a legit #1 scoring option. He's too streaky. Also, did you notice that he didn't start playing well until after he got into it with Perkins? Maybe Paul should pay someone to punch him in the balls before every game.

Ohrly?

It still would have been a bad idea, though, looking back on it. How do Harden and Lillard share the ball? Who scores in the paint? Freeland?

In years past there were times when he was streaky. It appears that some of it was because we didn't have a dominate center playing with him but we didn't truly know that until we got Lopez.

I'm glad we didn't trade LMA, just saying compared to the rest of the trades proposed the Harden one would have been the best.

Remember when Denny was saying LMA for Boozer would have been a good trade for both teams?

I think Pritchard went all-in on Oden. Imagine this team, even without Roy, but with HealthyOden/LMA/Batum as the front court. It's a 65-win team if Oden would accept being the best garbage player in the NBA. He'd still get 15/12/3bpg just based on beasting inside.

Yes. Remember when Denny used to post basketball-related things on the Blazer board? It's been a while, other than jumping on the 'LMA JUMPSHOTSJUMPSHOTS' fad.

Who is this HealthyOden player you speak of?

It's interesting to think that even if the Blazers did have a 13-10 stretch, they'd still have a good record (if it happened today).

32-14.

Still on pace for 57 wins.

crap, I wasn't too far off there.

Thats assuming we have our current roster minus LA and plus harden. Harden and LA are comparable talents so on that level it would have been a good trade. I also think Harden and Lillard would thrive together, Lillard and Harden could easily play off eachother and take turns at PG and SG, Harden did will with Westbrook who is much more selfish. Our inside game would be weak as shit though, because no matter who we brought in to replace LA they would mostly likely be a journey man. Overall we are better off with LA, but if you asked me at the beginning of the season I wouldn't be so sure. Side note, can you imagine seeing LA have his breakout year in OKC with Durant and Westbrook? Yuck

Sure he did and why not? People forget that Oden was THE pick then, he was the most anticipated player to come out since LBJ. Man, what a big WHAT IF. Another what if, is imagining we made the Durant pick, Lillard would be on another team and Roy would still have retired, but a LA and Durant front court would have been redick. Oden was my picks also Im just speculating with my 20/20 hindsight.

That would have been a fun team :)

Soo too bad about Oden

Interestingly, Harden and LMA have both made about the same number of shots (~170) within 9' of the hoop - Harden on about 70 less shots.
But since LMA just started playing in the paint a few games ago hopefully he'll pull away in the FGM category, and with more attempts/experience improve his efficiency.

Interesting bump...

Nice one PapaGizzle.

There is a difference between constructive criticism in a thread that I started off by saying that I love Lillard on the team, and ruining every thread related to LMA by having JUMPSHOTJUMPSHOTJUMPSHOT Tourrette's.

I also find the "PapaGizzle" thing to be funny. You're learning.

I guess I'm missing me be overly critical of Dame. I started a thread with a concern, and that concern has stayed in that thread, as opposed to entering every discussion on the board.

Default "Official Board" Challenge to Damian Lillard
We know Dame is incredible on offense, but tonight, I saw him actually back down as he was being abused by Ty Lawson and Randy Foye.

We all believe in Dame. We all love Dame as a player, and are fortunate to have him. At some point, will Dame hear the challenge to actually get in a defensive stance, and shut down penetration for the opposing PG?

You issued a public challenge to him to be a better defender. So if I issue a public challenge to LA to stop shooting so many low percentage jump shots, that would be kosher? Oh wait.... Brian basically did that.

I'm going to issue a public challenge for you guys to stop arguing.
