So I posted an actual response to the OP and instead of debating it, you pull this virtue signaling BS. It's a crap tactic to distract. Im done. I will no longer respond to you. You have nothing to add to any conversation so I will no longer indulge you.Sounds like righty virtue signaling

being greatly overcharged for.
I never knew you did. I thought you a man. An occasional virtual signalling one to be sure, but a man.I will no longer indulge you.
I lean towards agreeing with you but I think it is somewhat hypocritical.I would say yes, he should be punished but mainly a slap on the wrist compared to if a white person had hung the sign. If it was a white guy the purpose would have been far more nefarious, an act of intimidation and cruelty to another student. Plus it would have been racist. As the Black guy did it, it is still wrong, it is still something that can add to divisiveness on campus but not a threat towards someones safety.
If it were a white dude, I would recommend expulsion. In this case I would recommend suspension for a few days.
Race a factor? I dunno, I can see arguments both ways.I lean towards agreeing with you but I think it is somewhat hypocritical.
Should race be the sole factor in the punishment or the intent? Or both?
I dunno if I'd even punish him.Race a factor? I dunno, I can see arguments both ways.

I think his race doesn’t play as much of a role as the victim’s race. So, in this case he didn’t do it to someone who suffered fear or intimidation because there wasn’t a real victim. Still what he did was bad, piss poor judgment and can still elevate racial tensions, especially if he haven’t admitted fault.I lean towards agreeing with you but I think it is somewhat hypocritical.

Peckerwoods
But to equate what this idiot did with what would happen if a white guy did it to black man just doesn’t have enough parallels.
I literally have no way of knowing anyone's true intent behind doing this.I think his race doesn’t play as much of a role as the victim’s race. A more interesting hypothetical question would be what would have happened if a white person got caught putting up a sign that said “Peckerwoods inside” or something like that on his own door?

Were I the Dean I would listen to the stories of all the parties involved and then make a judgement call. But that's what it would come down to, a judgement call. If I felt there was racism involved, intimidation involved, harassment involved those would all weigh on the outcome. So would how contrite the person was, if they were willing to go to counseling, stuff like that. But face value I would say expel the white guy who did it to the black guy but not the black guy who did it to himself.I literally have no way of knowing anyone's true intent behind doing this.
What if I as a white guy heard other whites talking about being scared of the guy in apartment 210 and I stuck that shit on his door to make a point?
Sounds stupid but a human could do that. Should I get expelled? Maybe

No. Evicted as an unnecessary distraction if it is school property.I literally have no way of knowing anyone's true intent behind doing this.
