How do you even prove it?

Don't get me wrong, our education system is horrible and needs to be trashed regardless..... but I really don't think it's because it's culturally biased.

There would need to be a lot of study done, seeing how different groups perform (over large numbers of people over a lot of years) with other variables (like socioeconomic circumstances) controlled for. I'm sure other things would need to go into it--I'm not qualified to design such studies, but I'm sure you can get data that provides evidence for and against.

Thanks for that! My freshman college economics prof started the year off in front of a class say much the same thing!
He also said money is not capital but the chalk you purchased with it, is, so dont steal or bogart the chalk !

Also, I have to question Republicans' supposed grasp of economics when their most treasured economic principles, like austerity and supply side economics, fail miserably whenever they try to adhere to them with no Democratic interference (like Kansas, Oklahoma).

The reality is that most mainstream Republican politicians know perfectly well that those principles don't work, they just need reasonable-sounding lingo to avoid explicitly announcing that their economic platform is reducing taxes for the rich as much as possible and cutting social programs for the non-wealthy as savagely as possible. Oddly, that doesn't play well as a message. The fact that Republican voters (the ones who aren't rich) fall for the line isn't very good evidence that they "understand economics."

The most important resource any nation has in the modern world is the human capital. The Republican party representatives work against health-care, support for the weak and investment in education are proof that they have no fucking clue about economics.

I mean, a lot of people liked Colin Powell in the 1990s and early 2000s, but he wouldn't stand a chance in Republican primaries today. Eisenhower was a relatively popular Republican and today's Republican party would ridicule that Eisenhower as a RINO if he were a politician today.
