No. They are supposed to teach slavery was benign. Lee was a hero. Founders had no flaws. Racism never happened. Otherwise white people could be uncomfortable.

Wisconsin state legislature voted to ban teaching critical race theory, which is not being taught. Ban includes teaching about racism. The bill includes a long list of words and phrases that are banned from public schools, including equity, multicultural, and social justice.
Wisconsin voted for Biden in 2020 and has a Democratic governor but extreme gerrymandering guarantees a Republican controlled legislature and congressional delegation. When Republic Scott Walker became governor the legislature extended governor's power, which he used to attack unions, voting rights and abortion rights. When a Democratic governor was elected the legislature took back all the governor's powers.

Yes he will. But it shows Republican priorities and also, four years of "fuck your feelings" but white children would be traumatized if they heard "equity" or "multicultural".

Up until the 1920s, in any story about a lynching, the New York Times interviewed a Klan member or similar being to present the other side. They finally decided there is no other side to lynching. I presume Texas would disagree on that as well.

Based on the state's "don't make white people uncomfortable" law, Tennessee schools removed book on Martin Luther King and even a book on sea horses. Why sea horses? These little fish have unique procreation strategy. After eggs are fertilized, the female swims away while the male carries them in a pouch on his abdomen until they hatch. Because although sea horses have been doing this for millions of years, it is considered gender roles reversal that might make boys uncomfortable.
 
No wonder girls always seem to like sea horses.

And land horses, but that's a different issue.

A group of about half dozen Republican Senators led by Marsha Blackburn and Tom Cotton have formed a Campus Free Speech caucus. Its aim is to ban teaching about racism in college and to demand professors who do so be fired.

Where is George Orwell when we need him?
