For all the great things that Damian Lillard has accomplished thus far in his short career, he was helped by LaMarcus Aldridge, Nicolas Batum, Wes Matthews andRobin Lopez. With those players all gone, it’s going to be really interesting to see if Lillard can be as successful.

Of course, it’s impossible for him to achieve the same type of team success. I don’t think anyone should hold him to that. Individually, it’ll be telling to see if he can continue to shoot at a 50 percent clip from two-point range and 34 percent from three-point range.

If he can, maybe we can remove him off this dubious list. However, until then, I’m going to stick with my gut, which tells me that Lillard is a bit overrated.

Most young players prove that they can hang alone before gaining the reinforcements – Lillard was the complete opposite. He had the help first, now we’re going to see if his consistency can stick will him having the entire team’s pressure on his shoulders.

To be fair, Dame is right on that bubble of being a good PG or a great PG. If he wants to move up into the Paul/Westbrook/Curry ranks then this year could be the start of that.

Interesting list..... Klay, Draymond, Love, and Dame?

I get that Rose is overrated because the guy can't stay healthy and he hasn't been the same guy since his injury.

just tweet it to him, and I'm sure he'll respond.

Very true, but shit man..... I still feel like he gets way overlooked. If he wasn't a social media badass, I feel like nobody would know who he is.

I honestly believe that it will change this year. I think he deferred more than we know. This is his year and I can't see him dropping the ball.

Hopefully, he gets some calls (see HCP's post regarding NBA scouts and what they had to say about the Blazers).

he'll be off the list after this year, me thinks.

Dame's 3rd year performance is on par with what Curry did in his 3rd year. Curry had a short (injury) season his 4th year, made a small jump his 5th year and a bigger one last year. I think that Dame is likely to show the same kind of improvement this year or next - he is just too good a player - and people are unfairly assuming that if he is not as good as Curry now he is overrated - he is really following the same improvement curve that Curry had - and he might have done it deferring more than Curry had to in his early years.

They have been using that argument forever. How successful will Kobe be w/o Shaq, Can Shaq win w/o Kobe.

It will also be interesting to see how successful Nic, Wes, LA and Robin will be w/0 Dame......although LA went to a pretty good situation regardless how preseason has gone.

Jesus. Dame has carried the team, not the other way around. Wes, Batum, and Aldridge couldn't do shit until Dame came around and got them to the second round for the first time in 14 years. Also, Draymond Green is not overrated. The guy moved to center in the NBA Finals and they won three straight with him getting a triple double in the clinching game. This list is a joke.

Also, why does the thread title say SI?? It's not SI, is it?

It is bro! I just copied a picture of the article instead of the link....... I HATE clicking on a link and having to look at 30 teams info to get to my teams.

I seriously don't know sport media outlets even bother producing crap stories like this. Just to get people to click on the link? The content sucks. Take this section on Damian, they claim he is over-rated, yet the text says NOTHING to support that assertion.

Am I taking crazy pills or do you think this is the thread you started? I don't see the "5 most overrated players" in that link.. And the OP here is not from SI or you.
Take it easy. I've worked and traveled a little over 70 hours in the last 5 days..... brain is fried.

Congratulations. Was the operation to install said brain painful?

(Sorry "The", you know I love you).

I think you read a lot of my posts with a tone I don't intend. I don't take myself or this forum too seriously most of the time and I have no animosity or anything towards you personally.

I really don't know if I agree that Dame/Klay/and Draymond are overrated.

Love might have been overrated, but he has taken a major hit in the last season.

Rose is a ghost at this point. They're just piling on.
