Wow I think this helps our Milwaukee pick a ton? Dame is now on their cap for FIVE YEARS! The only addition they get is Miles Turner on a $107 million deal. We own their pick in 3+4+5 years!!!

They might even be ok next year which is fine - but this does nothing to help them building for 2028-2030!

As for Dame - he's out for the year and not worth even using up a vet minimum roster spot right now. If he wants to join in 2026-27 as a backup then explore it then next summer. Possible he might just ultimately retire and never play at an NBA level again.

Their fans must be devastated. Myles was great. Ayton?

With Tyrese out, this year was going to suck for them anyway - so paying Turner didn't make sense. They've gotta be more concerned with can Tyrese come back to the level he was at?

Pacers are just cheap.

Dude is out the entire season - it doesn't matter if CJ Elleby was our only PG - it makes no sense to sign Dame. Just as much sense as to sign Roy or Aldridge or whatever.
If we are doing that, I would do Greg Oden first, we are down a center.

WTF from Shams;

"The Bucks found a creative path to waive and stretch Lillard -- whose salary will be stretched over the next five seasons -- while leaving their future draft assets untouched."

The Bucks don't own any picks until 2031 - congrats on leaving those picks untouched!

Sign him so he can rehab in Portland then demand another trade to Miami once he is healthy. Pass.

113 remaining on Dame deal over 5 year stretch is 22.6 million cap hit per year.

Think we could be a HUGE beneficiary in that as it prevents them from adding talent when we have their pick in 2028-2030.

Can we trust Dame's buddy Haynes?

Think he would say that regardless just to be nice to Dame. He's not going to say he loves the move as thats a slap in Dame face. Giannis said all sort of nice things about Jrue when he left.

Don't care. If he wants to retire get him a coaches salary. Or maybe just give him the coaches salary in the meantime.

I don't care. I just want him part of the organization again. And hopefully for good.

But that does tell us that Dame isn't happy - Haynes wouldn't be trying to spin the move negatively if not.

Zero question where he wants to be IMO

RIP CITY
You think Dame wants to be the 3rd PG behind Scoot and Jrue?

Makes no sense for either party. Let him get healthy and go to a team that has an opening at PG. Or if he cant get healthy he just retires.

It's like fans here don't realize an achilies injury is the most brutal injury in the NBA.

Jrue IS STILL A VERY GOOD PLAYER. AND HE'S SUPER-GOOD AT DEFENSE - you know, the thing we're making our whole team identity???
I don't like his age or contract. And signing Dame is stupid with Jrue on the roster.

Why? So he can have Blevins on the roster?

Don't forget how him and his camp tried to screw Joe Cronin on the way out of town, plus bad mouthed him.

Not that I'm the biggest Cronin fan - but it was beyond unprofessional.

He can sit on the bench and rehab for a year. Just give him a 1-year deal to have him on the team and mentor folks. He can do whatever he wants after.

Just freaking sign him. Make it a 2 year minimum deal with a player option on the 2nd year.

Cover his medical and rehab. Get him around the team.

Not that it matters, but I would be fine with this. Vet min. He will miss all of this next season and the following season he will be knocking the rust off, reinventing his game. If he is blowing up let him go and do his thing where he wants. Blazers owe him nothing but love and respect.

We have Jrue for that. Do we really need two old veteran allstar PG battling out who should lead the team?

There's no use for that many cooks in the kitchen.
