SIGN DAME

Does anyone think Dame would be happy coming off the bench when he’s healthy?

This is not about him ever playing here again. It's about doing right by him.
Just assume that he's been offered the chance and is thinking about it. "Doing right by him" also involves not doing everything in the media. If the Blazers made a huge public deal about it and he ended up declining, it would look bad for him, so a respectful FO would not expose him to that possibility of backlash.

Their fans must be devastated. Myles was great. Ayton?

Great? Eh

He was getting outplayed by Obi Toppin in the playoffs.

Wow his fortune cookie type of tweets are going to be epic now Lol

So you can stretch a player's salary without the player's consent? That surprises me.
Correct.

The only agreement with the player is the cash the team will pay them. That doesn't change with a release and stretch - it only changes the cap hit.

Dame will hit waivers like every NBA player waived from a roster. He will clear waivers. Then he will be free to sign with a new team.

113 remaining on Dame deal over 5 year stretch is 22.6 million cap hit per year.

Think we could be a HUGE beneficiary in that as it prevents them from adding talent when we have their pick in 2028-2030.

if we were to sign Dame, do we eat the entire contract?

I was one of the few that was adamant we drop Lillard before this decline happened. I’ve seen enough examples of stars having a precipitous decline when they hit their mid 30’s.

players who piggy back teams and regularly play 40 minutes a night especially.

Is this the biggest waiver/buyout of an NBA salary in league history? Dame still gets paid and when he is rehabbed, can go anywhere he wants for very cheap.

No reason to sign Dame now as he is getting his money and would just be rehabbing this year anyhow. Hopefully he can rehab at the PF and be around the organization.

My opinion only- we have talent now, he can still go down as all time great. He can mentor and contribute at a high level.

Does the NBA still give injured player exception to the Bucks? What about insurance? All contracts are insured. Will the Bucks get that as well? I know it doesn't usually kick in until after the 41st game I believe.

One good thing about this: this should FINALLY shut the Miami Heat fans THE FUCK UP. They want Dame? NOW THEY CAN HAVE HIM.
