While I disagree because we don’t actually owe him anything. We gave him all the opportunities. We drafted him, we paid him, we listened to him and traded him when he wanted out. The Portland Trail Blazers were very good to Dame… We don’t really owe him anything. We do not owe him shit ??
In terms of team building I get it but to say the team does not OWE him is BS -- he is one of the top 3 players to EVER suite up and the total lack of respect he gets pisses me off and if that is how you feel -- your not a Blazers fan and this is a hill i will die on.
Milwaukee picks are lookin nice. I assume that 20 mil counts against their cap for next 5 years?
What do the Blazers get when he is injured for the year? He takes up a roster spot and has a cap hit.Sign Lillard to the vet minimum for one year. Give him access to the PF and staff to rehab.
Dude demanded out to ONE team after a decade of thumping his chest about loyalty. Went on and on about how he wasn't going to be a super team chaser. In the end he might have been the worst of all of them.We do not owe him shit ??

Dude did you watch Kobe? He was one of the worst players in the NBA after his injury.I anticipate Dame having the same recovery as Kobe. Same age- and will provide a lot to his new team.

And that’s the sad reality here. Dame is probably done.Dude did you watch Kobe? He was one of the worst players in the NBA after his injury.
LMA never talked about loyalty and how he was better than other NBA stars who jump to super teams. Dame did that for over a decade. While I disagree because we don’t actually owe him anything. That being said, I fully agree on the second part. I understood the LMA situation and why so many people were like “forget this guy”, but I don’t understand that with Dame. Emotions running high I guess.
It is kind of ironic that all of the reasons he stated he would never ring chase (grass isn't greener, failing at it, looking like a gravy trainer and potential injuries) happened to him 100%.
Why? This makes our Jrue trade even more disappointing. Should have kept Simons or tried to buy him out. Then sign Dame as Scoots mentor even though Dame probably doesn't play next year.
Time to trade Jrue to Mil and fleece them again.
Great idea! So we can have a Dame/Jrue duo both around 40 years old trying to guard SGA/Harper/Edwards/Luka for 48mpg in the playoffs. If Dame still looks like Dame, you trade Scoot.

Or we could just keep Scoot - then let Dame/Jrue/etc fit in as backup piece if that ever were to even make sense?
Yeah Dame taught Ant how to be a ball hog black hole and suck at defense.Would rather he model his game after Jrue. But if Dame wants to teach him to shoot, by all means!
