Simons is legit

Thing that impressed me the most was he threw two passes last night that were as good as any pass we've seen by a Blazer this year (the left-hand wrap-around bounce to Meyers for the reverse jam off the pick-and-roll and the three-quarter-court one-hand bullet pass ahead to Meyers for the dunk) and another pass (the on-the-money alley oop to Jake from the logo) that was right up there. That he went almost the entire night without a turnover while running point also showed me a lot.

I knew he could shoot and I knew he could score, but he didn't even run point in summer league. Last night showed he has the makings of a very complete point guard while still just scratching the surface of his potential.

I should have clarified my "against who" question.

I am on a cruise, and didn't see the game. It was s legit question.
Sacs starters played normal minutes in the 1st half. They thought the game was over because they were up 25. Anfernee and Scal in particular played pretty well the whole game. The other guys really didnt kick it up until the 4th.

It was obvious that the coaches were trying to tank the game only putting 6 mostly end of bench players out there the whole game. And I didn't mind because (a) I didn't want us to play OKC; and (b) I LOVE watching and evaluating the young guys ;)

Even though I wanted to avoid OKC, I'm not disappointed in the outcome at all. That was fun to watch, and a GREAT developmental experience for them, not to mention a great reward for putting in all the work all season long.

Just based off everything I saw previously, I figured he was going to be another SG in a PGs body with maybe slightly better playmaking than CJ. Sometimes I forget how young these guys are. I agree, last night he showed he could be a legitimate point guard. This team desperately needs another one, so he could easily be in the rotation next year. And if he can play point guard full time, all of a sudden his size becomes an asset.

I think Simons will be a better passing PG than Dame. Once Simons earns his stripes, I predict we'll be seeing Dame play off the ball a lot. And that's good on a number of levels, not the least of which is Dame won't have to use up so much energy and take such a beating every game.

Hey, if OKC jumps on the Blazers and put them down big - we now know the 5 that can have a comeback ;)

I thought it was a little bush league for that DWade didn't say he was passing the the torch to rightful heir to the throne, Anferee Simons, during his retirement speech.

So I've been living under a rock for a couple years now, didn't even know who Grayson Allen was so I decided to look him up. This dipshit had 5 separate 'incidents' where he purposefully tripped people? He's got to have a screw loose.

I loved every PIECE of this:

I liked Wade Baldwin... Rather have him than Trent...

It just seemed he was very uptight, and I figured he would nail down a role here with the opportunity given. I wonder if it was a chemistry deal, seemed like a loner to me.

All this time Stotts had Simons, Trent, ML and Skal as DNP-coaches decision. Imagine if Stotts used these guys when others like Turner were faulty.
We made an insane comeback. This was possibly Stotts at his finest using these guys and the team earning a great comeback.
