This is just a trial run for if some idiot like Bernie ever wins. You think I'm busting my ass breathing isocyanates to fix cars if everyone gets the same paycheck?

Yeah, no. If socialism happens soon I'm checking receipts at Walmart or something.....I'll slit peoples throats to get that job as boring as it may be.

The purpose of UBI is not to cap everyone's income at the exact same number. Andrew Yang described his UBI proposal as "Capitalism that doesn't start at zero." Anything you make above the minimum is all yours, minus taxes of course.

I know what that goofball and others have said about it. I also know that a number is just a number. zimbabwe.jpeg

actually, the way things are going the question should be "would you prefer $1000 or 100 rolls of toilet paper"
No....one roll of toilet paper for now. We'll see if a grand goes that far this Christmas. Hey mommy, buy me a PS5.....sorry son I don't have 3.5 million until my tax return gets here.

Whether you “need” the money or not, take it. Because who will put it to better use, you or back to the fucktards in our government ? If you don’t want it, go cash the check and hand out $100 to ten people who are struggling to buy food.
I object to the use of 'tards' in here. It refers to retards which is an unacceptable term for people like my now deceased sweet brother. Please don't denigrate his memory with that expression.

Absolutely. They have been takin my $ for years. I would probably spend it on a wild night out.

This reminds me of what I tell everyone about work Christmas parties. Instead of a lame party they spend 20-50 bucks per person on...have a drawing and give all that cash to one person.

I am curious how we will be taxed on the money. Will it be charged as income? bonus? I am not sure we will actually get it as long as the Reps continue to insist on the 500b slush fund for Trump to dull out with no requirements on which businesses it goes to.

I thought about that, too. I'm guessing that politics would demand that they make it tax free. But who knows.

Do you mean to say that there are two out of 18 people, 11%, who would return the check? This is based off the thread's subject poll.

I'm changing my name to Mr Boeing and see if I can get some of that airplane money.

Trump shouldn't be able to be in control of it at all. He would probably just give it to his friends and himself if there are no requirements.

Either they don't need it and will return it or give it away to those that do or they just don't want to admit they are going to take it.

I had absolutely no clue what a "Sous Vide circulator" was

after looking it up, I have a clue but it's a small one

They're great...my Son, who is a chef, brought his one weekend last Summer...I couldn't believe what a difference they make.

Bingo

It's a standalone immersion circulator that heats water and circulates it around the pot to maintain precise temperatures evenly.

Basically you cook stuff by heating it in a constant water bath. You vacuum seal meats/chicken/etc and then cook it this way so you keep the temperature precise. Works really good, takes a while.
