He didn't make it a Laker's Forum by starting a thread saying that Bynum has played very well recently.

Hell, it would be different if it was somebody different, but DR is pretty much part of our community.
 
DaRizzle is a closet Blazers fan that knows his Lakers window is short before the new age of Portland dominance. He is like a crack addict trying to get off that substance that is so bad for him (the L*kaers). I think that in the spirit of the holidays we should all show him the support that he needs and help him turn from the dark side and accept that it is going to take him some time to break that bad habit.

Yes, basically it is a bad idea to expose the young to such damaging substances - but we are Blazers fans. We are better than your average crack addicts. We can be the bigger men!

I don't give a crap. I just like to talk hoops with folks. If they are loyal to their team, great. The only folks I don't respect are bandwagoneers, who are hopping on, acting like they were there all along.
 
I don't think it's off topic to talk about Bynum. The Blazers are on their way to becoming contenders faster than I hoped. The Lakers ARE contenders now with a young center who's going to go up against our young center for years to come. It's a relevant comparison that's probably going to be discussed for the next decade (if both teams are lucky enough)...

Heck, in one respect, you could say DaRizzle knows the Blazers better than any of us fans - he won the November predictions game. :sigh:

Most importantly, he is a respectful and knowledgeable Bball fan.

Liking and respecting DaRizzle doesn't make me like the Lakers and by the same token, disliking the Lakers doesn't make me dislike DaRizzle.

There is a NUGGETS forum. Where we can talk NUGGETS.

There is a COLLEGE FOOTBALL forum. Where we can talk COLLEGE FOOTBALL.

There is a MOD forum. Where MODS go to discuss issues like this. It's not changing, drop it.
 
I think DaRizzle is as important part of this board as any of the Blazer fans. I would be sad if he was not here. I don't care at all if he posts Laker stuff on here. It's not like we only talk blazer stuff here. And to the comment that he is a Laker fan coming to a Blazer board and posting about Laker stuff, I feel that deep down inside he is a tiny bit Blazer fan.

He came talking about Bynum. I find that very relevant to the Blazers. Prior to our opening game against the Lakers there was much discussion about the Oden vs. Bynum face-off. They are both young and talented and, I believe there is a notable rivalry between PDX and LA regarding their two centers about which is the better of the two with the Lakers probably feeling slighted as Oden gets so much more press and yet Bynum is playing some pretty darn good ball.

We as Blazer fans have long felt slighted by the respect, coverage and everything else the Lakers get and now it is our turn and they feel slighted.

Something regarding a renewed rivalry is very relevant IMO.

I'll leave it at that.

DaRizzle's kinda handy to have/keep around. He's helped ground a couple of myopic blazer fans that were off flying around in outer space. Good natured and harmless, if we gotta have a laker fan around, I suppose he'll do.
 
What's the big deal here? A little back and forth with fans of other teams is what makes message boards fun. I wish there were more of it, frankly.

Chris, feel free to post on the Lakers forum how Oden is progressing nicely and you're looking forward to him giving the Lakers' wannabe center a smackdown come the January game with the Lakers.

Nah, I started posting on the ESPN board in 1999 with some of these guys (PBF, PapaG, Sodapopinski, It's GO time, E Blazer, Gramps, etc.). Then there was a migration to BBF.net when ESPN changed the format. I just didn't enjoy posting there as much so I became more of a lurker. I was on vacation in October and when I came back the posters had migrated again... to this board and it appears you're actually allowed to have fun here. Yay!!!

Do you ever talk to AngryPuppy (another Laker fan who's really loves the red and black but doesn't know it yet)? He's migrated with us to different boards for the last 8 or 9 years, if you want really good Laker talk he's great!
 
DaRizzle is fun to keep around. Just gotta make sure we keep him on a leash. We don't want him to run a muck..

DaRizzle is just an attention whore. Nothing wrong with that! (He does like the Lakers, and there's plenty wrong with that...but, oddly, it's not against S2 site policy.)

I don't see any problem with a single OT thread about a Lakers player. Portland fans have talked enough about Bynum for it to be a valid topic of discussion on this forum.
 
This thread started out ok, but I think I'm drowning in all the excess drool Drizzl-ing off of DaRizzle's nuts.

Though if it's between a knowledgeable NBA fan who happens not only to root for our rival, but be able to speak intelligently about it, and people who rant at things that are different, I'm with DaRizzle, too.

(Stealing from Simmons) Now I'll go set myself on fire. Maybe I'll just start calling him D*Rizzle.
