Sixers and Celtics are in serious talks on a trade involving the No. 1 overall

The Boston/Foxborough area fanbase seems to be very much like that with the Patriots, Red Sox, and Celtics.

The Patriots and Celtics are definite some of the greatest dynasties ever. Rex Sox are lumped in there by relation. They didn't win shit till 2004. I mean, the Cardinals are twice the franchise that the Red Sox are. The NE literary monster fantasizes about about this mythical Red Sox history that is pure fabrication. Stan Musial was a better overall player than Ted Williams. Bob Gibson was more dominating in the 67 series than Yaz was. The Red Sox history is one of self aggrandizing. Why the Celtics were never more popular than the Sox or even the Bruins I will never understand.

I'd try to get #3, the worse of PHI/LAL 2018 2nd, and SACs unprotected 2019 Pick.

That would give them two top 6 picks next year and a top 3 pick in 2019.

That's enough to trade for 2 all-stars. They could probably trade 3 for an all star as well.

Everyone already knows Rasta would be right there with you.
Sigh. Because of the "ic" right?
Actually, I'm not that much of a fan of Saric (apart from the passing). He wouldn't work with Nurkic - too slow of foot.
In reality being Balkan is neither a necessary nor a sufficient condition for my liking a player, but I realize people like their stereotypes.

Even with their unbelievable championship run, the Celts weren't selling out in Boston until Havlicek came on board. Meanwhile at the same time, the last place Bruins were... most everyone from that era & area says it was racial.

STOMP

1. Fultz
2. Fox
3. Jackson
4. Isaac
5. Ball

And it wouldn't shock me if Kings took Tatum. Ball is going to go lower than expected imo

You mean Lavar Ball can be as loud as he wants and still it doesn't hide the weaknesses in his sons game?
Fuck man plans to follow in his example is ruined.

I think being paired with a PG that's 5'9 would be my main concern. Four or five inchers shorter than Dame and statistically the worst defender in the league. Seems to me that all the negatives of a CJ/Dame backcourt would be multiplied in a Fultz/IT backcourt.

TBH, Thomas is not winning them any championships even if they pair him up with a good defensive SG like Butler.

Thomas is amazing, but i think I'm trading him for a better, younger 2-way player while arming up for when this Cavs/Warriors storm is over.

Thinking "we don't have to take Jordan because we already have Drexler" is just wrong.

76ers will not go that high, for sure. They will maybe add one additional pick to the #3 this year, perhaps Lakers 2018 pick or 76ers 2018 or 2019 but not two future 1sts.

It'll be interesting to see if it has an impact further down the draft and maybe opens up a door for us to trade up.

Philadelphia should still try to get Knicks or Minnesota pick this year to get Malik Monk. Even offering Sarič would make sense, as they could play Simmons at point forward and have the backcourt of Fultz and Monk would be awesome. However, getting Fox at #3 and pairing him with Monk also works.

Maybe ORL loves Isaac and trades #6 up to #3 to take him because they think PHX will take him at #4? Philadelphia gets Monk at #6?

Well but they don't get Fox in this scenario because they no longer have #3.

Looks like two future firsts are potentially on the table:

A 2021 first though is...not that amazing. And the protections will obviously be key as far as how much value this really is.

2018 Lakers pick is valuable. I think there's a good chance it will be a top 10 pick, quite comfortably, and next year's draft will have more forwards and a top center prospect (Ayton) which Celtics need more than a guard this year.

If Celtics feel they may as well take Jackson or Tatum at #3 and get a good future pick to go with it, it makes sense. They'd basically receive 2018 Lakers pick for merely being two places higher in the draft. That's a good deal.

I think it's a deal that benefits both teams here. Sixers don't really need that many picks in the future. However offering Kings 2019 pick is too much, that is potentially a top 5 pick with Kings having so little talent and experience.

I agree. As I said, though, a lot depends on the protections. The 2018 Lakers pick is unprotected for Philadelphia, but I assume they can add protections to it if they trade it again. I could be wrong.

They can. I don't think Boston takes it with any significant protections. Maybe top 3.

Danny gets people to do the dumbest stuff for him.
Pillaging from McHale and the Zombie Sonics to build the Big 3.
Pillaging Billy King in the Big-3 Sell-Off.
Pillaging 4 other teams to turn Jeff Green and Marcus Thornton into a 1st, a 2nd, Isaiah Thomas and salary relief.
Pillaging 2 other teams to turn an expiring (in more ways than one) Rondo into 2 1sts, a second, salary relief and Jae Crowder.

I wonder if Jordan would have been Jordan if the blazers had drafted him? And how would Clyde have reacted (he was already a bit of a prima dona)? That might be a good OT discussion for the summer doldrums :)

But yeah: I'm all for BPA and figure it out later.

These two were so good, i really believe you could just say "fuck it, play MJ at SG and Clyde at the SF. That mofo is 6'7, we'll be fine."

If Fultz, Embid and Simmons all reach their ceilings on one team..... of course remember when we had discussions about Roy, Oden and Aldridge?

"Do you miss me, miss misery
Like you say you do?"
Liked just for the Elliott Smith reference.
If that team with Roy, Aldridge, and Oden would have stayed healthy, the lyrics would be:

"So won't you follow me down to the Rose Parade".

Never did get into Smith too much sadly. I remember my friends telling me how good Heatmiser and I should go see them. Ever want to get a time machine?

Done deal. Trade call coming Monday
