I understand....I love Big Ed...my point is training camp MVP isn't earned guarding Kawhi Leonard usually...and in the cases I sited, none of the players are here today. I would have kept Big Ed for what it's worth
 
Not sure but he is a better player than Biggie

My post was a general response and it wasn't directed at YOU. Your post just happened to be the last post in the thread at the time but it was very obvious that it wasn't directed to you or any one person as this is what it said

Where in that statement does it say that YOU need to relax on the Tolliver bashing and then you decided to push it further and make it personal. When I said "this forum" that was about this forum, not you.
 
Stotts apologists in full force here. They keep telling us what Skal ain't. But they aren't being honest and telling us with Tolliver IS.

Nobody is saying Skal is perfect, but he's miles better than the alternative (Tolliver). Also, he has upside and can get better. He's already very productive in limited time. Why not develop a young player who may blossom into something very good come playoff time?

Also, who took my talking points? Some here would have you believe that if you give constructive criticism on how the minutes are being allocated you are a hater. Yeesh.

I suppose you call me a "Stotts apologist" so I guess I should address you as a "Stotts hater"? Name calling aside, show me what posters say that Skal "ain't" and that Tolliver "is", whatever the hell that's suppose to mean? You seem to be the one not being honest. It's also 4 games into the season and Stotts has said in the past about the early part of the season he usually uses a longer rotation to see what works and who plays well together. especially since we have a lot of new players. Remember when many of you were whining about Stauskas last year and then he was out of the rotation and eventually traded. Something a lot of good coaches will also do, including Popovich. I await your ain't and is posters names.

Tolliver Sucks! I’ll post this whenever I feel like it because it’s true. Don’t let him taking a charge and a couple rebounds that fell in his lap fool you.
 
Skal will make some mistakes, but i'd rather pay for his learning tuition and not for Tolliver's quest for youth.
It's not like Tolliver is playing solid and adds stability to the team, there's no point in playing him.

Tolliver took 3 games to score 5 points, Skal averages 5.5 points and 4 rebounds for like 8 minutes per game.
You can joke about Skal doing 22ppg and 15rpg per36minutes, but he had 29 and 15 against Sac last year.

The post was mostly about Blazers basketball so it would have been inaccurate to post it in the OT forum.

I haven't considered you because I don't know who you are so I'm not going to spend the mental bandwidth to call you anything. You can call me the bastard child of Chris Dudley for all I care. It doesn't change anything. You know how close the West is every year right? One game can cost home court advantage. I would hope that our coach does not become a hurdle to our success. I'm sure he does good things but playing Tolliver heavy minutes is a hurdle to the team's success. It's just that simple.

Uhh, wtf is that first line about? I was agreeing 100% with what you had to say, and actually was going to make a post stating that. Then, you had to add that last Trump political line. That should have been said in the OT area, not here. Outrage??? No. If I wanted to argue political BS, I'd go find a thread in the OT area about it. Don't act stupid. Unfortunately playing Skal a bunch of minutes could also be a hurdle to the Blazers success this year as well. I love his potential but he still has a long ways to go. Unfortunately with Zach, Nurk, and Pau out they’re just really thin up front right now, and worst case scenario for the year (in terms of PF/C) is that they Would have to rely on Tolliver or Skal to play and produce in a starter type role.

Personally I’d start Skal, but I also get why Stotts has tolliver out there.
 
I dont get the "Skal hype" here at all. I like him he seems like a good guy, but he's so weak and often looks lost on the court. But yeah as long as Nurk, Gasol and Collins are out he should get more playing time

I would argue Skal might be a more well-rounded player. Is it possible he hurts us? Yes. But, let's find out what we have in him before we close the book on him. He's obviously been very productive in limited minutes and he's obviously much better than Tolliver which is the point. We're better off with him than Tolliver. I actually predicted that Tolliver would end up getting minutes over Skal as asinine as it is. I know Stotts' tendencies pretty well and thought Tolliver had a good chance of taking Skal's minutes. Stotts just prefers vets over the younger guys. Even if they are producing much less.

He's better than Tolliver now and he's much younger. He was also a top high school recruit. I think Skal has a better shot at being a player in this league than Mario does and Mario was a lottery pick. We're trying to unearth a gem and Skal has a chance at least as good as Mario. He is more productive than him or Tolliver in limited minutes but is getting the least amount of run time. Seems like we should expand his role soon and see what he can give us now that Zach is out. Not rely on Tolliver to be something he just isn't at this point in his career.

I think Skal has a much more well rounded offensive game then Tolliver. Tolliver I think is probably more versatile defensively. The big difference to me is Tolliver is older and we know his ceiling whereas Skal appears to just need to time to develop and he has a higher ceiling.

I don't see the versatility you speak of. Skal is a better rebounder and rim protector. And who knows, maybe he has a better three point shot as well? He should be putting those up instead of deferring but I think the coach has put it in his head to strictly be a "garbage man." I didn't like what Skal said in training camp about what the coaches were telling him to focus on. I think they are selling him short if they just want to him rebound and run.
